UTK is a good job, not a great job. That’s why they hired Kiffin, Dooley, and Jones and not a true top coach.
Lane Kiffin came from a NFL head coaching job. Derek Dooley was a hire in response to Kiffin being a grade A prick. Butch Jones was one of the hottest coaching names out there after having two good seasons at Cincinnati.
It is one of the higher profile jobs you can get in college football.
It's just not.
Joey Freshwater came from unemployment lines. He was canned and sued not 2 years into his NFL gig. Everywhere he's been, it's ended ugly. No other schools were after Kiffin they hired him.
Dooley and Butch were weak hires.

We are up to what, 8 coaches now who have rejected UT's millions, but still Lat thinks it one of the higher profile jobs. Pure delusion.
