RE: GS Staff 2018
I'm really curious to see if we transition to a 3-4 over the next year or 2. I'm sure we won't do it right away, as we have to use what players we have on the roster, but it will be interesting to see.

I'm much happier with our coordinators under lunsford than what Tyson was able to bring in.

Temper the Eagle fan's expectations if Sloan decides to transition to the 3-4 as it takes time to implement. If you go back and look at when App made the switch, it was a rough couple of years. I believe we gave up 28 and 27 ppg respectively the first 2 years during the defensive transition. The biggest upside to the 3-4 is that you don't have to try and recruit multiple DT's every cycle to maintain depth plus it helps to put more speed on the field that some teams lack when they have 4 DL players.

Are you referring to the hire, or the current state of affairs?

After giving up 32.2 pts and 26 pts on defense ppg in 2017 and 2016 respectively, 28 and 27 points wouldn't be a radical shift from where we are now.

I just want to see a coaching staff that will adapt to they type of players they have. We might be better suited for a 3-4 with our current roster anyways. I've always appreciated the way App uses their athletic LB's.

That makes a ton of sense but, in my opinion, the 4-2-5 is better for this conference and the guys we are able to recruit. I'm also a contractor, so take that with a grain of salt.
