Why won't you guys fire Tim Floyd? Is it a contract issue, buyout too big? Is he like by the big donors? What is it? You guys have too good of a program to be this bad.

I'm as far away as you can possibly be from an insider, but I think some of the boosters would go down with the ship due to the fact that he is Don Haskins' top protege. And I don't think the outgoing AD wanted to fire him either. Fingers crossed, hiring an outside AD lights a fire under his hindquarters or makes it easier to fire him.

The best possible scenario is for him to pull a Kugler and take it out of everyone's hands, but he has far too much pride to do that.

I'm so confused as well. UTEP has one of the largest fan bases when they are winning. You guys need a fresh start, no reason for the program to be down this much.

New AD introduced in the afternoon, Floyd retires that night. New beginnings for UTEP in both FB and MBB plus we have a new WBB coach already doing a good job. Future looks bright from my viewpoint but the new AD has to show his worth by making some very good and very important hires. Time will tell but I'm happy for UTEP athletics right now.

Tim Floyd is considered a Saint in El Paso. Even after 8 seasons with no championships or NCAA tournament appearances.

He is by far the worst coach we have ever had.
