Didn't they do something similar last year? Not sure if it was playoffs or what but I seem to remember a free TV at the end of Q3.

Yep. They did it for the freezing cold blowout of the Softies on Friday night. Student section was filled to the gills. I think they had multiple offerings. An amazing turnout and equally amazing environment the students created that night. The team noticed and responded accordingly.

Hoping it happens again the next 3 weekends at BFS. Come May we'll all be missing JMU Football and then June thru July is just dreadful. Enjoy it while it is here.

I like your thought, but seems to me that the odds of winning are so low that there's little chance of a big ticket item working like it should. I'd rather see a lesser priced item but given to 100 students where the chance of winning are significantly higher. Possibly do both. It would be nice to give something to all participating students like a "T" or hat passed out to all students during the fourth quarter.

Though, this game may not be the best game to do any a fourth quarter promotion, as I believe it will be over by the end of the third. Honestly, I don't begrudge anyone during a blowout leaving a touch early, where I don't understand it is during a close one when the team needs us.

JMU also handed out 7,000 rally towels that evening for the Softies blowout as well as a $500 gift card to the JMU Bookstore for best sign...which should have been a photo-shopped KC Keeler onto a bottle of Summer's Eve.

I remember they called a 2nd person's name because the 1st person didn't claim it (had left the game). Ultimate slap in the face for leaving the game early.

Would be nice if they did something(s) at the end of each Qtr and game's end to get them to come in early and also stay the entire game.

1) Wonder if the kid that was called first was paying his own way, or if the parents were paying for school?

2) If the parents were footing the bill, wonder if they ever found out that their kid won, BUT LEFT EARLY! That'd be a tough one to live down.

My daughter graduated 8 days after the Softies game. Standing beside her in BFS when the (first) announcement was made, I commented "just my luck, watch you win."
