Bowl games are typically booze-infested vacations where you practice twice somewhere warm then play a game. And if the cheerleaders and dancers go, too, they also get stipends and vacations. The rest of the week is all fun. And have you seen some of the gift baskets these guys get? Free Xbox and PS4s and Beats by Dre headphones.

True, but a night in Tunica capped off with a Gold Club run wouldn't be a bad use of travel funds.

Playing at home, at the Liberty Bowl, would be nice, also. I always thought Memphis should be playing in the Liberty Bowl more often. The payout isn't as great, but it promotes the Tigers on it's home field, and national exposure, good for recruits outside of Memphis.

I'd rather go to the Peach and face a hometown team in Georgia (face Atlanta will definitely be considered a home game for GA).

But I wouldn't mind somebody else having to play us in our home town.

I've always thought it would cheesy to play in the hometown bowl, though back when C-USA had a tie-in or backup link, I guess it was a higher payout than the New Orleans Bowl.

Heck, I would prefer New Orleans against the SunBelt over an urban sprawl, shopping center and subdivision suburb of Dallas.

I'm for it.

Bigger opponent, big Memphis crowd would offset the loss of vacation Bowl, especially considering the other potential desinations and opponents.

Havent been over that way in years, but someone told me they are tearing down that building. I sure hope there aren't any airborne diseases that get out of that place.
