Means your bowl 'eligible', not guaranteed a bowl.

*you're

We're aware that it's not guaranteed. I believe SApuro was pointing to the fact that last year, there weren't enough bowl-eligible teams for the games, so some 5-7 teams like UNT got in, which was a much bigger crap shoot for those teams than it is for us. Our chances are much better as there are currently 79 bowl-eligible teams for 78 slots. Someone will miss out, but our chances of getting in are much better than the 5-7 teams of last season.

I would think that UTSA is guaranteed a bowl since they have an actual winning record. They should get a bowl over any 6-6 team.

Because they lucked out and got a game cancelled? I don't think so.

Lucked out.. I think UTSA would of beat UH in SA. The dome would of been packed. UTSA was far from lucky that its star home game got canceled. Plus UTSA was playing 1000% better at start of the year.

RE: UTSA fires OC
UTSA was playing a lot better at the beginning of the year . . . when they played scrub teams.

If I'm choosing Bowl teams and have to leave one out -- my first left out is UTSA. The 6-5 looks good until you see they were 3-5 in the league, and only beat teams with a combined 4-44 record.

I always thought it was a bit strange that Frank Harris chose UTSA and that offense over somewhere that fit him more. But I think it was the allure of Scelfo and his time producing NFL QBs.

In any case, this firing was due.

More like, before 3rd stringers started playing on our line.

I don't know where you imagined 4-44, but Marshall alone has 7 wins. We were a 3rd down conversion away from beating YOU too, so don't pretend you are above all of this. Also, weren't you 5-8 after your bowl last year? Talk about needing to be left out...

Yeah forgot about that Marshall win. Point remains -- Southern, Rice, Baylor, UTEP, Texas State are all garbage and comprise the larger part of the wins.

North Texas IS above all of this given that they have 9 wins. There is no column for Almost Wins or Almost Losses.

Yes, NT was bowl eligible thanks to fortune last year and it is quite hilarious that there was a ton of jokes about that -- and the fact that UTSA was in the NM bowl instead of the better HOD Bowl -- and we very well could see UTSA sit with a winning record this season.

Thems the breaks, kid.
