Who is up next on the Merry-Go-Round for the Vols?

It's getting to the point that the only people who'd even sniff at the Vol's job would be young coaches looking to prove themselves or old retreads desperate to get a gig.

How long before Art Briles' phone rings........

Hi Art, this is Rocky Top, got a minute......

What happened to Tennessee? Is the fan base that delusional or is there something more than that?

And we were talking about assistant coaches here. Try to keep up

Note - Given the timing of Frost's hiring by UCF, talks with Frost were going on before Oregon's regular season was over - and he missed Oregon's bowl game. Were you upset about that?

I must’ve missed the announcement when Frost was Oregon’s head coach.

I will type slowly so you can keep up.

The posts in question are about UCF's ASSISTANT COACHES looking for houses in Lincoln, and UCF posters crying about it.

Frost was an ASSISTANT COACH at Oregon when he was hired by UCF, right after Oregon's last regular season game, so obviously ASSISTANT COACH Frost was talking to UCF DURING THE SEASON.

Clear?

Yeah that’s why I said losing an assistant is easier/ not the same as a head coach.

Oregon fans would probably disagree. Frost bailed out on Oregon before their bowl game to take the UCF job. Oregon blew a big lead in that bowl game and lost, and that was the beginning of the end for Helfrich as their head coach.

Everyone’s lost coordinators before bowl games, we have. It’s not unique and we weren’t upset about it. Helfrich was Kelly’s oc so that’s on him. Point is, you can’t lose the face of your program and expect to perform at the same levels.

The point is that everyone thinks that bailing out early is ok if their team benefits but that it's outrageous if their team is left with a hole.

When I saw the title of the thread, that it has "Coaching" and "Fire" in the same sentence, I immediately thought of Tennessee...

Cuse loses Co-OC and QB Coach (Sean Lewis) to Kent State.

Good hire...bad for Cuse. We were looking to flip a Houston QB commit...

Might be the tallest head coach in D-1
I think he goes about 6'7"
