Can we get some dang top 25 votes already!? Seriously though following the game through changing computer digits , reassuring to see so many contributing.

Good solid performance - Lots of opportunity for the bench to get into the act; they got a little lax letting Rockford pop the 3s but overall a fun one to listen to while getting dinner ready

Kind of worried about the interior defense Wed night and rebounding. Milwaukee is going to be one heck of a test. Hope that students turn out for this game before break

I think they'll be alright - As far as today goes, it's easy to get to a point where you take the foot off the gas a little bit; I think that's what happened at the beginning of the second half honestly

Am I reading the box score right, Rockford University played 21 players? What did they do? Make bus stops on the way here?

My sons team, Carthage, beat Rockford by 20 earlier this season. Both teams have over 20 players on the roster. In blowouts, they will try to get them all in. D3 doesn't give athletic scholarships, so they usually have a lot of players on the bench. It's kind of a joke, but the freshman and sophomores that don't play in the varsity games can play the JV schedule.

This game shouldn't count towards the overall record

Either should St. Francis.

MM and SF will count it. This game will bring up their scoring average. Pad the stats.

Yes the game counts! Justin Thomas a starter for NIU was hurt. His injury counts so the game must also.

RE: NIU vs Rockford University
I don't mind a cupcake game or two but that's it. The equivalent of a FCS game for football. Pretty sure most teams do this in both basketball and football. Even the mighty SEC football teams do. They count because they happen during the season. If this was early on it would be exhibition. The St Francis game counted because it was tied to the Gulf Coast tourney. In previous years some lower division games counted because they were part of the round robin tourneys NIU sponsored. The lower level teams like them too because they are paycheck games.

EVERY Division 1 team that plays any non-D1 counts the game. It’s not MM or SF. It’s the way it is. Give it a rest.

Give it a rest? I only mentioned it once and that's just my opinion. Michigan state plays lower level D2 or D3 schools, but they show them as exhibition games and don't count them in their record.

That may very well be because it would cause them to exceed the maximium game limit.

Exceeding the game limit might be part of it but as I mentioned in a previous post, games at the beginning of the season are different and can be enhibitions. You can't start your regular season and then play an exhibition.

Don't you know? Anytime a MAC basketball team wins a game, the team they played is one of the best in the country.
