I wouldn't rule out 2 bids again. Doesn't seem like any chance at more than 3. And we'd basically only be getting 3 by adding Wichita.

The middle of this conference has lost to Drexel, St John's, Lamar, Lasalle, Arkansas by 35, Northern Iowa, and Western Kentucky. This is how you stay mediocre. If UC and WSU don't do some serious work OOC, we have virtually no shot at a Top 4 seed.

Today was not power worthy.

I wish I could walk onto the court and play. Alas, I can't. It's Tulane's first bad loss - if they can avoid other bad losses then it could be OK.

Tulane will beat Alcorn St. at home, and then go to UNC and get drilled. It is what it is.

I'm not blaming any posters on this board. I didn't mention Tulane in the above since I think they still need to prove they are in the middle of the conference. I'm encouraged by Tulane's improvement this year. It's a great first step for a rebuild.

The real problem is that even Tulane getting better (which they are), doesn't fix the conference's issues.

Well...at least WSU is one of the crowd. Be happy to take credit for that one.

A weaker conference will benefit Cincinnati for sure.

You're probably asking for it when Cincinnati goes down.

It sure benefitted WSU. Shoulda stayed there.

I'm not sure I follow your logic. If we would've stayed in the Valley, we would've beaten Notre Dame?

Observations are being made through 2 weeks in November, a month before a conference game has been played lol.

payday seems to comment about everything not involving Cincinnati.

Good question though.

my gosh lets not overract.....acting like we lost all our ooc games, this is basketball you dont win every game
wsu, cincy are likely locks....temple is still sitting pretty and a likely lock

now the rest:
1) uconn- they lost to 2 sweet 16 caliber teams ..they could very well still make the tournement, and has a win on a likely top 100 rpi team.. imo alterique gilbert is key. he looked overrated for most of the year..the one game he really shined was Oregon (1 point in 20 mins of play vs arkansas) but he has only played 5 career college games, he has time to improve

2) ucf- is without its best players and came inches of beating a 6-1 st johns....if they can somehow sneak a win past mizzou or bama before bj taylor gets back in 3 weeks id add them to the probably tourney bound list

3) smu returned only 3 players and had 2 of its projected better players sitting out most of the games...they beat arizona (will look good at seasons end) play usc, tcu and boise...win 2 of those 3, then get mccurry in January (sitting on transfer rules till then, 20points a game in usf), in time for conference play and they likely make the tourney too

4) houston- you guys have your opinions on houston sucking, but our coaching staff doesnt seem worried and still thinks this team makes the tourney (insinuated as much in an interview 2 days ago) ...

5) tulane- has one loss, their best 2 players had horrible shooting nights. we have no clue if it was just an off shooting night or they arent as good as we expected...too early too tell

memphis has 1 loss, to a top 25 team.....i dont think they make any tourney but them along with tulsa, usf will win enough to not be bad rpi games..ecu will be bottom 300 rpi but that cant be helped

i still see 4 minimum.....5 if ucf/smu can sneak a few wins before returning to full strength in January

Look, I'm sure it's overreacting a bit and I love the optimism, but I've seen this show before. Last year, and the year before, and the year before. Missing opportunities OOC and dropping games to mediocre teams. Even if everyone gets right by conference play, it's already too late. The AAC is doing nothing to prove the committee wrong.

And I'm not trying to be all high and mighty no matter how it sounds. UC has had its problems in big games. But it's not a one team problem, it's a whole conference issue.

UC has a chance to prove itself with games at Xavier, Florida on a neutral floor, Miss St at home, then at UCLA all back to back, but even if they do well there, it's frustrating only playing one team in the Top 50 for 2.5 months once the new year turns.

Days like today shouldn't be happening if we want to be taken seriously as a high level basketball conference.

@XU is probably a loss

I don't see beating Florida at all, they look like a legit final four team and they are better than UK at this point.

I think we can take UCLA at their place.

We will beat Miss St at home.

= 2-2

I think UC is definitely better than X but winning @ the Cintas Center is a tough. I think it Broome plays well that’s a UC win.

For him to play well in that environment he is going to have to play adequate defense and not turn the ball over. I think I start Jenifer in that one given he's played their before and he doesn't turn the ball over like Broome. I'd bring Broome in for 'instant offense' in a more limited role at the Cintas. But that's just me. Mick knows best.

RE: 11/26 AAC Basketball Games
Well.... it’s TAP THE BRAKES MONDAY here.

I’m interested to hear what the faithful have to say about your teams OOC so far.

Owls: How do you shoot 55% (44 from 3) and lose a game? Honest question.... not a flame.

Tulane: Awesome start... were you due? Road loss? What up?

UCONN: HUSKYU: I’ve watch alot of UCONN hoops these past 3-4 years and not just
The SMU games. I’ve attended both conference tourneys in Hartford seen you guys at your worst and discussed it ad nauseum over beers and shots across the street from XL. I’ve said this all along: Ollie ain’t your guy.
Who has he coached up? You guys gotta make a change.

SMU: work in progress and a rebuild but still a solid roster and a very good coach. Late bloomer this season with bumps along the way. Still a top 3-4 AAC team.

UCONN has one of the ugliest offenses in the nation. Gonna lose this one badly. Sorry AAC. Ollie gotta go.

If UConn offered to make Geno one of the highest-paid coaches in men's college basketball -- we'll say in the $4-5 million range -- do you think he would consider it? I know he's turned down men's jobs in the past, but he's got about a 10-year window left in coaching and I believe he could win a championship for the men's team. And I'm sure Chris Dailey would keep the women's team near the top of the sport. Am I crazy for even suggesting that?
I hope they can do that

UCONN is terrible. Ollie needs to go away. He isn't the answer. You guys have gotten progressively worse each year.

I'd crapcan the guy now while you still have the name. You can't wait to do it after you've missed the NCAA tourney five years in a row.

Remember when everybody made fun of the guy that said WSU's backups would win a lot of games in the AAC?

Cause the league went 0-5 yesterday against teams not as good as WSU's backups.
