Excellently.

We don't have to match someone's offer. Just do what he wants in regards to progressing the program and raises and extensions as necessary.

We don't need to make the mistakes we made with Anderson and we wont with the Foundation in place. In fact without the Foundation, I don't think we would have ever taken a snap his season.

I can't believe Arkansas isn't fawning all over Kevin Sumlin since he's gone 5-0 against them.

Give the guy a little credit for loyalty here

My guess is that we'll have him for some years yet.

That said, it is a job and a career for him, and the time will come when he is offered a job that meets or exceeds what it will take to get him to leave UAB. That's the nature of his career. We need to support and enjoy him while he is here, and pray that he stays a long time.
Clark should be enjoyed while we can, But his history shows that he will be gone when his long term economic self interest says so just like any other coach

Clark left the school he graduated from and the school that gave him his first head coaching job after ONLY ONE year. They were in the middle of recruiting and were more butt hurt than we will be. Zero loyalty shown.

Clark's economic self interest was to stay at UAB when the program was ended If he stayed at UAB the full three years - he would be have a pension of 360,000 a year starting immediately for the rest of his life. (25 years X 2.2% X 600.000). For a coach I assume never made half that before.

PS I half way believed Hasse was loyal and going to stay at his First Head coach job but Never Again for me

Clark didn't get along with the AD at JSU at the time & saw UAB as an opportunity to carve out his own path.

I don't blame Haase for leaving either.
Turns out it led to the end of the road in his head coaching career, but he's a big boy.

Clark and Ingram aren't exactly buddies.

Careful what you wish for. Ingram goes to Tennessee and hires Clark. Coach is probably the only guy who could go up there and ignore the noise from the fans and get the job done.

Can anyone argue that FBHC Clark hasn't elevated the UAB football program far above what it was when he arrived? If he left today, UAB could look to hire a far better quality of coach than we could have expected at the end of McGee's tenure. It will only get better for UAB's program in the future, and Clark can expect to get the additional support (facility and funding) a growing program needs and deserves.

Clark would probably donate money for Ingram to go to Tennessee.

Wrong. If Clark was to leave, Watts would hire a coach that he can control better. Clark needs to stay until Watts is gone.

Guess that's why they hired Nolan Richardson. And Mike Anderson.

Have you read about Nolan's problems with administration while he was there ? Sure it was 20 years ago, but it might not have changed much.

You guys are naming basketball coaches. When did they hire a black head football coach.

RE: What are the odds this is Clark’s last game at Legion Field
I overheard Nolan Richardson and Mike Anderson telling a story about their Arkansas days about how Nolan was invited to a Trustees meeting to honor him sometime shortly after their championship season in 94. Nolan needed to use the restroom but was told by a member of the trustees that the bathroom right outside the room was for "trustees only." They made him walk to the other end of the building to use the restroom. Every person who wanted to use that restroom that day did so without comment; secretaries, guests, faculty, whoever. Except for Nolan, the only black guy at the meeting. For him the convenient restroom was not allowed because it was "for trustees only."

Smh we all know out the whole league only three schools have hired dark skinned coaches in football. So the other 11 are racist.
