Seems to me the real question is.......can FAU score 70 points on UNT this time?

Based on that first encounter with FAU, I can’t predict a win by UNT. Wish I could but we’re just not there yet on defense.

TOOO many Offensive weapons to not have a solid D, Singletary rips them apart... again... Owls roll easily and I get out of Christmas Shopping!

True its hard to beat a team twice, for instance last season we lost @La Tech but was able to beat them at home in championship game......However we barely lost @La tech in earlier match up last season, its different this season...FAU is head and shoulder above everyone in CUSA and its not close....They will not win by 40 like last meeting, but I predict a comfortable win by around 21 or so for FAU....

I wouldn't go that far, FAU defense is pretty soft. There aren't any good offenses in CUSA this year to keep up with them

Our D is soft lol you have no idea. You think because you racked up some yards between the 20's we are soft. GTFO
We have given up over 30 points to a C-USA team once and that was VS UNT who scored the last two TD's in garbage time.
We lead the conference in takeaways with 26.

So your team can hit some passes vs out cover 2 man, but our D is designed to let some of those happen in the name of getting picks.

FAU will take this one, dont have a reason to think otherwise

I expect a much closer game and a shoot-out. I think both defenses are slightly suspect, although FAU's defense had seen a marked improvement throughout the season. FAU's offense is also a tiny bit more effective.

I say FAU 48-38

Regardless of the outcome, it's been a fun year for North Texas fans. 9-3 record, perfect 6-0 record at home, Western Div Champions, going to a bowl game. This season was way beyond my expectations. I couldn't be happier.

I think it'll be closer, but I don't think we can stop them

Since the FAU game, the North Texas defense has only given up 21.2 points per game. If you exclude the Army game, then the UNT defense is only giving up 14.3 points per game. This is compared to 44.2 PPG through the FAU game. #UNT #GMG #NewDenton #NewDefense

Yea, UNT D has only given up 14.1 points a game, but let's ignore the one where they ran for over 500 yards (What FAU runs isn't too far off from what a triple option team does ) and only factor the games that include Rice, UTEP, and ODU.

Great attitude, and I'd probably feel the same way if UTSA were in your position.

FAU. Better team. Both school are going to have trouble hanging on to those coaches, though.

I know where college football is concerned, it's hard to beat a given opponent twice in the same season. And after what happened in the last meeting between these two, revenge is the oldest motivation known to mankind. .... I know that FAU is the hottest football team in Conference USA. But, I can't shake this feeling that North Texas is going to come back to Boca Raton remembering the beatdown they took at the hands of this team, guns blazing and prevailing in a close scoring shootout like our Conference has probably never seen.

I fully intend on watching this one on the Tube.

Green Menace's sentiment about the conference this year mirrors mine as well. I have had a blast following C-USA Football this season. Especially with the surprising success of my UAB Blazers and 9 other C-USA programs achieving bowl eligible status.

It's hard to beat the same team twice in the same year. I want to pick UNT but my gut is telling me FAU.
