Espn offered the deal with ucf added. Espn never wanted Villanova football. Matter of a fact even at $10-13 million the league still gets gutted by the acc and big 12. There was still an upgrade available both in $$$ and prestige. Nothing the big east could have done.

Exactly right. UCF was to be brought in, and 13 mil would not have kept anybody from leaving, and my guess would be ESPN would have had an out with 3 or 4 schools leaving after that.
