Belated Blazer Almanac 11/21
November 21
Late today with The Blazer Almanac.
A short note about yesterday's loss to Richmond. Chris Cokley's 10 rebounds gave him 625 in his career. Moves him past Elbert Rogers and Stanley Jackson to the 7th spot on UAB's Top Rebounders list. William Lee is 6th with 646. Carlos Williams is 5th with 669. Today we face Buffalo. It is the first time the two schools have met.

UAB football
Football is 2-1 on this date. Wins are over Charleston Southern in 1996 (49-13) and Tennessee Martin in 1998 (48-17). The loss was in 2009 at East Carolina by the score of 37-21.

UAB Basketball
Blazers are 4-2 on this date, but have lost the last two. The wins are over Texas A&M in the Preseason NIT in 1985 by the score of 71-68; they beat Alabama A&M 97-62 in 2000; they beat Eastern Kentucky 64-50 in 2007 and Georgia 72-56 in 2009. With the exception of Texas A&M, which was played in Houston, the rest of the wins were at Bartow Arena.

The first loss on this date was a thriller at the Charleston Classic in 2013. UAB lost in two overtimes 97-94 to New Mexico. UAB overcame a nine point deficit at halftime to send the game to overtime. Chad Frazier had 34 points and Rod Rucker had 20 rebounds in the loss.

The other loss occurred last year in 2016 when USB lost to Kansas 83-63.
