RE: What are Dukes thankful for??
I'm thankful for the great institution that is James Madison University. It has given me the knowledge and the confidence that makes me feel I can do anything. I am thankful for the JMU Sports Blog and this forum.

I'm thankful that we're not playing before empty seats in a sold out stadium.... shhhh just roll with it. Stop. Whatever you're thinking, just stop.

RE: What are Dukes thankful for??
I am incredibly thankful for JMU who gave both of my daughters excellent educations (and the college experience to go with it) and allowed them to get started in the world on a sound footing. I am also thankful for the many hours that my wife and I have spent in Harrisonburg supporting, cheering and enjoying all that JMU has to offer.

Hope all Dukes fans and alumni have a safe, peaceful and enjoyable Thanksgiving with family, friends or whoever you spend it with.

Go Dukes!!

Brian

If you can get past some of the boring stats and google-search data, the article actually provides some valuable information that I hope JMU decision-makers are at least CONSIDERING.

Points like: student amenities to drive attendance
1) students want to use dining plans for food inside the stadium- it is ON CAMPUS after all and provided by aramark, how hard could this be?
2) student lounges/sports bar feel inside the stadium/arena. Much harder to implement after the facility is built, but a place for students to congregate isn't such a bad idea!

Hoping some of these can be applied to the new arena and eventually the other half of BFS. If the student population is the largest local demographic, you want to do anything you can to encourage them to show up. I'm not saying hot tubs and DJs are the answer (a la Rutgers) and winning naturally brings them out... but simple things like accepting JAC cards, not brain surgery!

ODU should stop scheduling games that conflict with monster truck pulls and K Mart blue light specials.

What are Dukes thankful for??
Thankful for a university that provided me:

- a great education
- lifelong friendships
- Experiences that shaped me (even if a few are a little hazy from the undergrad years)
- a place to bring the kiddos to on weekends to root and hang out that's outside the hectic everyday life

In short, thankful for buds, bourbon, and the boys of fall. #GoDukes

Thankful for a fanbase that cares enough to invest time and money into JMU athletics.

I'm thankful for all those who love the Dukes and JMU. I think we are a great group and there's not one of you on this board who I wouldn't want to down a few beers with.
