I'm going to turn out to be right about KH, but it's embarrassing that I mistook her for being semi-sane after watching her and that hawaiian lunatic barking mad during the BK hearings.

And she slept her way to the top with Willie Brown. 100% feminist icon.

no pun intended, but she's 100% untouchable there. if anyone brings that up in the primaries, the #metoo jihadists will decapitate them, burn the body, and shoot the ashes into space.

and the dem party is currently owned and operated by the #metoo jihadists.

Biden getting in could scramble my long held prediction. I can't believe, though, that the extremist dem base would choose an old white guy over a (a) female (b) child of immigrants (c ) of color.

Quote:KAMALA HARRIS SURGES INTO LEAD AMONG DEMOCRATIC PARTY CANDIDATES

Kamala Harris has leaped to the front of an already-packed Democratic 2020 race, recent polls, political strategists and party donors have suggest.

Although recent polls show Harris lagging behind former Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Bernie Sanders, the California senator is first among Democrats who have announced their bids for the 2020 nomination in recent polls from Monmouth University, New Jersey and Emerson College, Iowa. The graphic below, provided by Statista, illustrates the poll results.

Beato is a flash in the pan. And Obama obliterated the dem party in congress; although he was very good at getting himself elected and re-elected.

The last time Biden ran for president, my living room on a friday night had more supporters (that number was consistently 3) than he got votes.

it was my reckoning that the dem base would wash away all the ossified remnants of the old party, and none of the prediluvian, ossified would jump in.

that remains to be seen.

my money is still on Harris.

One thing I think you are getting a bit ahead of yourself in is the identity part of identity politics. Remember, Shaun King is white in appearance and raised by a white family, but he identifies as black and is accepted as such because of his actions.

Harris is running headlong into that particular wall. Her lack of a clear minority identity that fits nicely into the left’s lunatic fringe, her marriage to a white guy, and her previous election strategies are all biting her in the rear right now.

Some of those members of the lunatic fringe have been calling her out for a long time now. Look up groups like the Black Indigenous Movement. They absolutely hate her to the point of “four more years of Trump is better” in some cases.

To me, the Democrat who emerges out of the primaries is going to be the candidate who unifies the disparate and continually diverging elements of the party the most successfully. It’s in this arena where I personally think Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders are particularly dangerous to the other candidates. Go look at the campaign managers Bernie has assembled. That staff just screams “I’m doing what I can to be race and class conscious without forgetting the gays”.

I could be completely wrong, though. It could be that I’m simply overestimating the influence the lunatic fringe has on the party as a whole. It might be something as simple as candidates embracing far left rhetoric early on as a test, in order to see what effect it has on their campaigns at a point in time when it’s least likely to have long term repercussions come time for the primaries.

The Dems could end up as divided as 1968. It should be interesting.

I can tell you right now who it will be: Sen. Kamala Harris. hands down. she's irresistible for all of the obvious reasons that make liberal voters tick, but most of all, she's presumably immune from any charges of clam grabbing, which is apparently damned hard (no pun intended) to find in the DNC these days.

take it to the bank.

Good call for EagleX (although it ain't over quite yet). Bad call for me when I said Gillibrand.

Kamala strikes me as a younger, more energetic version of Hillary. Both are calculating, conniving lawyers who are super ambitious. Harris has more of a chance to get elected than Hillary IMO if she picks the proper running mate (which Clinton did not, although I'm not sure who she could have chosen to make a difference). If it's Harris, right now I'll predict she goes with Mayor Pete or Castro as the VP choice. She absolutely needs a midwest presence on her ticket to have a chance.

The other factor is Obama has to actually campaign for her, unlike his token effort with Hillary. Which he might do this time around. Supposedly they both like her.

We'll see - a lot can change in the next year.

Huge mistake for the Dems if this happens. She will not turn a vote away from Trump in the states he won.

Kamala the Slut is probably the most repulsive single democrat to me. I don't agree with any of them's ideas. But she is the most personally repulsive one on top of that.

I’m telling y’all and you won’t listen. The democrats will destroy their own nominee after the debates when it is obvious their ‘person’ can’t beat Trump. Some me too or racially charged accusations and they will be toast. Seemingly lost and dead in the water they will beg their savior to come to the rescue. Having said all along she won’t run Moochel Obama will grudgingly step in at the last moment to save the world. Bank on it.....

If it’s Harris, it gets the black votes back that trailed off once Obama couldn’t run again. The Dems have no chance if it’s not a black candidate.

Just imagine if you said that about a white candidate. How much more blatantly racist can it get.
