I tend to agree with you. I only want Elmore back if he is 100%. Would like to see him play for us for 3 more years. Sure would hate to have him come back too soon and reinjure himself. I could picture him Jeantal and Cacok on the floor at the same time. They will be nasty!

From all of your posts, I gather you're a big fan of Elmore. Which is fine. I just haven't seen enough of him on the court to determine how "nasty" he would be to opponents. Last year he only garnered limited junk minutes due to our depth of talent, and of course he was a freshman. I hope he does redshirt though, and we do have him for three more years. I'd like to see how he develops. I'm just not all in on him being a big time starter or serious threat for opponents due to a very small sample size of his on court play thus far.

Well I am a fan of his high school days. Totally agree with you at the college level. But I think with Wolf coaching him he will be our guy.

Absolutely. IMO, adding Wolf and Jackie Manuel to the staff were huge additions that could really be huge for player development. Now we just wait and see. Sucks for Elmore though, hopefully he's able to work hard and get back on the court either this season or next.

RE: Campbell
Elmore is a shooter and this team needs shooters just like all teams. He is not going to offer much more than that from what I have seen in HS and the few minutes he played last year. My concern is can he run the floor and play defense as he gets healthy. He is not a post up guy so he does not have to worry about banging down low on offense. Maybe Wolfe can teach him how to play down low a little bit but he seems a little soft to me.

All I know is that McGrath is high on him. So maybe he has done somewhat like Cacok in improving from freshman to sophomore. And no, I'm not comparing him to Cacok in any way except for his possible improvement from one year to the next.

If that is the case i think it makes the case even more for him not coming back if not 100%. I'd much rather see him contributing for 3 years :)

Add that, plus a year to sit on the sidelines (as painful as that is for him probably) and really get to know McGrath's mind and system from the sideline and he'll have a leg up for sure. Main thing I want is for him to heal and heal properly and not rush. After that, as fans, we get what we get. Just gotta stay patient and positive.

RE: Campbell
It all comes down to his plans after college. If he sees himself playing after college and earning a living as a basketball player he redshirts. If he believes getting a free ride to college to play ball was enough, and he's ready to go in a different direction after college he tries to come back.
