Not enough time in practice to get the reps in?

A couple years ago when these guys came to our place and beat us soundly, I was very surprised. Sadly, I’m just as surprised to be down by only 3 at halftime.

For us, maybe not a bad choice. Lots of things could happen if we push it... almost all of them bad.

34 seconds left, that deep in own territory, that is the right call.

Down 10 to 7.
11th game of the season
Starting field position at your 30.
1 time out left.
34 seconds.
Take a knee.
Typical.

That is the right call there. More bad than good can happen, by a long shot.

You're still in the game. A pick 6 and you're a lot worse off. And your chances of scoring are pretty remote.

I'll have to disagree with you there.
I wouldn't consider the 30 to be deep in your own territory.
Speaks volume for the lack of confidence he has in his players to not at least try play action-draw to see if you can get a 10 to 15 yd gain.

Maybe try a safe running play and see what happens. But you're not likely to get into scoring position with enough time left to do anything. And trying something more risky, hundreds of thousands of actual results plus simulations say that the odds are about 4 or 5 to 1 against.

I know a lot of our fans want to see us take more chances. But some chances make sense and some are stupid. And this one did not make sense. If you want to say, we're dead, so just take chances regardless of whether they make sense, maybe you go for it. In a 7-28 game maybe you do, 7-10 you don't do that.

I want Bailiff fired, but not for that decision.
