Keep in mind that the only players on this team he has played in games with are Lee, Cokley and Sullivan.
Totally agree. He had some moments in half court sets though were you could see he was bit slower in anticipation than usual. But like you said he does have all these new pieces. He was tough on himself in the post game and I love that.

I’m not worried about Nick, he will do what the team needs him to do. There was always going to be an adjustment period with him coming back from injury. I hope he is rounding into form by the time conference play starts.

Must say I was impressed with the 9 assists myself. Not impressed with HaHa's rebounding numbers. Cokley and Bryant will lead this squad.
Perry,Darling,Lee, and Norton will pick up the rest of the scoring load.
Sullivan,Fueye,Lavender are still trying to get a good feel on how they help out.

Watching those highlights...the lineup with Nick, Scootie, Nate and Ha-Ha, we have four 3-point threats on the floor at once. Been a long time since we could say that.
We are on another level compared to last year. Interested to see how we adjust to real competition.

We have unprecedented guard depth. Lew, Coke, and Haha are going to be fantastic for us in the front court and if Gueye can slowly improve we're in for a very special season. Depending on how some pieces fall we might have a 901 area code addition in the spring.

I'm not worried about Nick either. If he's still not playing very well during CUSA play, then we may have a problem. 9 assists suggests he's not too far off from being his usual self.

Are you talking about Tyler Harris at Cordova HS.
I hope so. I saw that kid play as a freshman in HS and was blown away. Memphis is salivating for him and he blew them off in the early signing period, apparently waiting for the late signing period.
I would assume he's talking about Ryan Boyce. If he's ruled athletically ineligible at his high school, he could finish out his classes academically in December and potentially join UAB in January. This is what Austin Wiley did last year at Auburn.

Didn't think about that. He was ruled athletically ineligible to play at East High School. I think the high school governing agency in Tennessee is cracking down on some of the transfers. Boyce and another player played for a private school in Nashville and transferred to a public school in Memphis. Seems obvious that it was just so that they could play on Penny Hardaway's team. Many are saying it was cut and dry that the transfer would not be approved. It has nothing to do with Boyce's academics. Hardaway has had several players do that and apparently the crackdown is happening.
Do we have a scholarship for him in January.
He'll need to get to a prep school ASAP but there is still time. A lot of water left to go under the bridge but things are being discussed.
The scholarship question is a good question that I'm sure they'll have to figure out how to manipulate.

Norton made two half-court or three-fourths court passes last night on a fast break that led to dunks or layups. The pinpoint accuracy was off the chart. The second brought me out of my seat. It was great to see!

If we can get Boyce early then I'm all for it. Just hope we don't fudge team chemistry trying to start him.
I think Perry should start too, but if Boyce comes in then no.
Would like to see us change the starting to get Gueye going a little more with HaHa. Chris and Lew as the reserves with Coke still getting his minutes and closing out. If that don't work start Lew ,but Gueye is the important piece upperclassmen gotta get him going. He seemed to play better on the perimeter. If he fouls out Smallwood got a good 10 minutes in him with behind the back passes.

Unlike previous seasons, this team has wings(players who are swift to run wide on both sidelines on the fast break ahead of the ball) to create three on two or four on three to finish with a fast break score. They sure don't lumber up and down the court.
