Aaron Menzies records a double-double with 16 pts 10 reb
Matej Kavas 27 points 3 reb
Jordan Hill 17 points 7 reb
Josh Hearlihy 16 points 7 assists 4 reb

SU shot 59% from the field and 65% from 3

Belmont squeaks by Houston Baptist and will host Seattle U in the championship game tomorrow at 1 PM CT. I will be the only SU fan their practically like I was today lol

Seattle U was in it neck and neck with Belmont until about 10 min left in the 2nd half. Then Belmont pulled away and SU fell apart. That being said, against a program like Belmont who has won 10 of their last 11 conf championships, im very, very impressed SU was always leading or down only 4 points for the first 30 minutes

I watched the game on the internet. Seattle looked good for a while. But Belmont hit a few NBA threes which seem to cause separation midway through the 2nd half. Belmont loosened up and Seattle got tight with their shooting.

Menzies' size draws defensive attention but because he is slow, I think it effects really what Hayford wants to do as a program. in a few years, Hayford will have Seattle scoring 80+ points a night; with quicker bigs roaming the paint and multiple sharp shooters on the perimeter.

CSUB up 36-33 at Lamar in one of the worst officiated games I've ever seen. There have been 28 total personal fouls, they are calling anything and everything. This is a joke. Every trip down the the offensive end on either side ends up in a foul. Briggs has 13 and Joiner has 12. CSUB out rebounding 18-12 and is shooting 15-19 from the line a notable improvement. Lamar is a really good team (beat Tulsa) and this was a promising half refs aside.

I'm watching the game. Well, at least they are calling more fouls on Lamar than CSUB. Joiner already has 12 points at the half; he's a very talented freshman. I hate to think how good he'll be as a Senior.

CSUB wins in Beaumont 85-73. A great win against a great team on the road. Still one of the worst officiated games I've ever seen. There were 57 personal fouls. I wish I was kidding. These refs need to be reprimanded. Anyway the game was great for CSUB. Finally put together a full game of great offense. Durham was unleashed in the 2nd half and was 5-11 from 3 finishing with 17 points. Joiner with 18 and 6 boards and Briggs with 22, 7 boards and 4 assists. Briggs is really really good, the key to the season. Aly and Wrapp both fouled out in this joke of a game. Out rebounded Lamar 35-26. Shot 47.6% from 3. Lots to like here, especially offensively, despite the constant free throws which they actually did really well with surprisingly. 27-33 for 82%. On to Alaska for the last Great Alaska Shootout to continue this long roadtrip. CSUB will certainly be well tested and challenged heading into the WAC.

Seems to be a bad ref weekend. Look at the NMSU ULL football game...

They already have surpassed 100 points twice this season, including a school-record 121 against Puget Sound.

Hayford aversged mid-high 70s in ppg at Eastern Washington. But in his last two seasons they set tenure-marks with 77ppg and 76.2ppg

The ones at the 2k Classic this weekend were poor as well. Though they did tend to favor SU more often than not. In the Detroit/HBU game tonight they hardly called anything, even when both players are thrown to the floor

Good! Jon Mettus and Stephen Hicks tweeted about the FT% improvements.

Didnt see the game. Were Durham's 3s set shots, or some of the wild stuff he threw up last year from the base lines, at times?

He's definitely more restrained. He takes smarter shots. Usually finds a nice spot in the corner and drills one. That's his zone. I believe he was 4-5 from deep in the 2nd half. When he's hot he's on fire.

Refs seemed pretty bad at the GCU game as well. Couldn't really distinguish a charge from a block very well.

I don't typically put much value when any WAC team scores over 100 against a D2 team. However, I was impressed when Seattle lit up D1 Detroit Mercy. Hayford does have Seattle shooting a lot more threes this season; which is his signature offense.

I watched the Belmont game. And, I might be wrong, but it seemed like Seattle's offense was being slowed by Menzies presences on the court. Menzies size does have it benefits but I feel his game is more suited for a team that plays a more methodical style of play. The rest of the Seattle team appears to be much more free flowing.

I agree on Menzies. He is still too good to not use though. He had a double-double against Detroit-Mercy.

SU also kept Kameron Chatman, former Michigan player and 4-star averaging 16.5/8.5/1.3 to only 4 points. Chatman then had 22 points and 16 rebounds vs Houston Baptist. Though then against Belmont, SU gave up 26 points on eight 3's to Austin Luke, who was only averaging 3.5ppg before that

Explain to me how Harris has been struggling a lot???

He only struggled vs UNM. The kid is probably one of the top point guards in the WAC.
