He coached under John Cooper, Tressel and Urban. Not many guys who under 45 can put that kind of experience on their resume.

Never saw anything remarkable about his style. He always had way more talent than the other team. Perk of the logo on his business cards

Having seen CLF's post game interview performances (deer in headlights) I have to question how he interviewed for the HC job. Before all of the fail, did he come off more confident and assured?

I'm really surprised there are this many people mad at CLF. He took over a train wreck....TRAIN WRECK. You just aren't going to go from that to even average in one year...not in football. You can do it in hoops but not football.

All the same comments were shared about Butch after getting destroyed in his first year here following Kelly's undefeated season. And Butch came from a head coaching position. Unlike Fickell, he didn't have to follow Tub's disastrous losing campaign of 2016.

Can it turn quickly? Yes. UC was punished at NC State that year and returned the favor the following season in Nippert. Will it turn that quickly? Not sure as Fickell started with a less talented team that had forgotten how to win. We should all expect continuous improvement from CLF but that may mean 5-7 wins next season and significantly improved execution on offense, defense and special teams. Personally, those are the goals I would expect him to achieve.
