half time adjustments
What did you see NIU doing differently on O and D second half when compared to first given these first half stats

TOP first half WMU 22 minutes NIU 8 minutes
second half WMU 11 NIU 19

Franklin 92 yards first half
23 yards second half

do these improvements stem from coaching?

RE: half time adjustments
Offensively, I think it was just finding a rhythm. There were 2 short TD drives (started in plus territory) plus a defensive score by Smith and a fumble which led to a WMU TD in the first half. I think that played a big role in the three and outs and lost look the offense had at times. Only thing that stopped the offense in the second half was a clipping foul and a fumble.

As for the defense, it seemed like they thought they could stop Franklin in base defense, and once they figured out they couldn't, they sold out a bit more and he was quieted. That did open up the passing game for WMU though.
