He played in Mexico for a season I believe, but don't know that he ever really recovered. I wonder if he ever got his degree? He was only six hours from graduating when he got hurt, but quit going to class.
He works as a stocker at Walgreens now, so I'm guessing he did not.
Wouldn't a situation like this need to be brought to the attention of the Foundation for UAB Athletics ?
Not for Demario in particular, but any athlete that is close to a degree but didn't finish for whatever reason. I don't know exactly how that part of their scholarship works / worked, if the door is always open to return and finish, etc.
If the Athletic Department or Foundation for Athletics has a plan in place, that's great, just count me oblivious.
I agree,
Let him finish up his degree, and put him on the basketball support staff.
Can we get his done? It would be a nice gesture/1st case for the foundation or similar organization...

RE: Chattanooga Game Thread
Being a stocker at Walgreens isn't evidence that he didn't finish his degree. I know more than one person with a 4 year degree for a job that just isn't out there for them.
However, if it were found out that he didn't finish, count me as one who would make a small donation to help him finish it out.
