Would not worry about his points he's not their to score points he has a defensive presence on the inside that we neeed against teams with the 7 footers. Just need him to play defense, and be that presence on the inside that's all he need to do.

Smallwood can't play meaningful minutes precisely because of the huge liability he is on defense. He is just too slow to play at this level, and it isnt something that will change. Smallwood has 5 fouls he can soak up, at least 3 of them will probably be And-1 opportunities for the opponent because his reaction times are just so slow.

Outside of that he is a novelty, a seven foot french ginger to throw out in garbage time to entertain the crowd.

Even though Smallwood doesn't play much, somehow he has become the face of this team. He is a positive representative and appears all over social media as the face of the team. I don't think I have ever seen any one who plays so little so visible.

As David Crane said, " Who doesn't love a seven foot red-headed Frenchman?"

We may run into a team against which Smallwood could have a significant role to play. If nothing else, Smallwood could decoy the other team's big man off of Cokley.
