According to
https://www.lyonspr.com/latest-nielsen-dma-rankings/ here are the biggest markets on the east coast with all their team(s) in conferences worse than the CAA:
1. Charlotte (Charlotte the school spent time in the Atlantic 10, now in Conference USA which is FBS but worse than the CAA in basketball)
*West Palm Beach-Fort Pierce (on the east coast but not in a state that was a colony to fit in the "Colonial")
2. Norfolk-Portsmouth-Newport News (Old Dominion is in Conference USA like Charlotte)
3. Harrisburg-Lancaster-Lebanon-York, PA (far enough away from Philadelphia to be treated separately IMO)
4. Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point
I'm not saying that the top three markets have teams that fit in the CAA better than UNCG. I'm just ranking the market sizes.

<30 minutes - UNCG, Elon
<5 hours - JMU, UNCW, W&M, CofC
The northern schools are all 6+ hours.
Excluding UNCG who doesn't have to travel to themselves, that's 5 out of 10 (half) <5 hours, and half is not a "majority." If UNCG joins to make an 11 team CAA without anybody leaving, I'll be mad because I don't like having more than 10 teams, I don't like an odd amount teams, and I don't want an increase in the percent of southern schools. I'd be fine with swapping Elon for UNCG. As UNCW fans would you prefer UNCG or Elon?
