MBB vs. EKU

Fun game to watch (except for refs & FTs) and great atmosphere at Tudor! (My first visit, actually)

But... KenPom has this projected as a 1 Point loss, so from that standpoint... we’re not any better than he thought we’d be.

But he’s also got us 9th or 10th in CUSA so that’s better than a lot of folks had us.

I looked at Pomeroy's numbers and thought he had EKU as about a four point favorite (it's a little closer now).

I caught the latter part of the second half. I did note that the officiating seemed very tight - fouls were being called on virtually every occasion there was contact anywhere. It also seemed that we had trouble defending Mayo - he had 25 and 12, and once Austin Meyer fouled out there didn't seem to be anyone who could stop him. He had one nice sequence where he missed a shot that was rebounded by Bishop Mency, but Mency was casual holding onto the ball, allowing Mayo to steal it back immediately and shoot it and (because the two players actually touched each other during this sequence) drew a foul. The two foul shots he made certainly had an impact in a one-point game.

Pomeroy gives us 3 points for Tudor homecourt when predicting scores.

EKU lost by 10 to a decent Ole Miss team tonight. Mayo went for 19 & 10.

Did he get in foul trouble? He had 3 fouls by early in the second half against us, and that's when the refs started whistling everything on whomever was guarding Mayo (or whomever he was guarding)-- whether that was Meyer, Harrison or Jones. He went over the back at least two times in which Meyers or Jones got hit with the personal.

Their sophomore point guard didn't play against Ole Miss, although he really didn't have that great of a game against us either.

That wasn't #20, was it? He was cold at first, but then caught fire throughout the second half. He won the game for them more than Mayo did, IMO.

No #20 was Boyd. He was #11.
