I knew I read this somewhere. According to their site they are D-II.

MOVING BACK DOWN
In April 2017, the Savannah State administration made the decision to move SSU athletics from Division I to Division II.

69-61 quickly turned into 91-65. Much better.

Just very little focus throughout. They think they're ready for X, Florida, UCLA.

If I remember correctly, they don't actually move to D2 for a couple of years.

Yep. A little bit of buying into the hype thinking they're the Golden State Warriors. Get the turnovers under control and they'll be fine

Breathe guys. It's the first game and we're up 24. Lots of guys playing, lineups in and out. It will settle down in the coming weeks. This is a program under Cronin that has had problems scoring. The D will be there. I'm just glad to see some damn offense for a change.

I do worry about this. I like Jennifer's line a lot more than Broome's.

Held them to 35% and 30% from 3 in a game we had 20 turnovers. That tells me defense was pretty strong when we didn't turn it over. We know Evans isn't normally a turnover problem, as long as Cane isn't then I have no concerns.

Agree. Hopefully they can grow into this new look. Nearly every single player on the roster is a legitimate threat to score. Feel like I'm living a weird dream given the recent history of our Bearcats.

UC free throw pct. was ugly.

6,610 attendance - not bad for a Friday noon game and I think stronger than usual for one of these early cupcake games.

I do enjoy the fact that that we can win by 30 and still have so many things for Cronin to coach. I hope that keeps these guys level headed and never satisfied.

Pretty much what I expected for a first game. Getting out of that place sucks. Was told by someone in the AD that Kentucky won't allow a cop at the intersection to direct traffic and control the traffic lights to facilitate people exiting. Will be nice to return to civilization next season.

BTW, not sure why you blow Diarra's RS so he can play about 20 seconds against Savannah St.

Agreed, I probably spent 25 minutes in the garage just to leave, and another 10 minutes until I actually got on the highway. It almost will force you to leave a game a few minutes early to avoid all of that. On the bright side I did shake hands with Leonard Stokes.
