Yes the MAC weeknight games suck but this 6 day hold is a normal practice within the P5.

Here are 6 day holds just for next Saturday.
Arizona at Oregon TBA 6 day hold
California at Stanford TBA 6 day hold
Illinois at Ohio State TBA 6 day hold
Iowa State at Baylor TBA 6 day hold
Kansas State at Oklahoma State TBA 6 day hold
Maryland at Michigan State TBA 6 day hold
Michigan at Wisconsin TBA 6 day hold
Minnesota at Northwestern TBA 6 day hold
Mississippi State at Arkansas TBA 6 day hold
Nebraska at Penn State TBA 6 day hold
Oklahoma at Kansas TBA 6 day hold
Purdue at Iowa TBA 6 day hold
Rutgers at Indiana TBA 6 day hold
TCU at Texas Tech TBA 6 day hold
Texas at West Virginia TBA 6 day hold
Texas A&M at Ole Miss TBA 6 day hold
UCLA at USC TBA 6 day hold
Utah at Washington TBA 6 day hold

http://www.lsufootball.net/tvschedule.htm

But most of these games are on Saturday when most people can attend. The question here is will the game be at a time when no one will be there or when a few people will be there.

But all those fan bases still have only 6 days to know what time the kickoff is. So it could be an 11am kickoff, an 8pm kickoff or anything in between.

We KNOW its 6 or 7pm. I just don't get why its a big deal not knowing the hour of the kickoff time earlier than 6 days before the game when we already have a 1hr window since this Summer.

What is the attendance at those P5 games? We all know that P5 attendance has declined too, this could be part of it. Just guessing.

Great, 6 pm so no one will be there. Thanks MAC 01-wingedeagle for the wonderful contract!

6 pm is really getting the big national audience excited. Especially the west coast time zone. I hear GDP will drop by 50% this year because everyone is taking off work to watch MACtion. 03-lmfao

Just play the games on weekdays at this point. Really not much difference.

RE: WMU game time?
So NIIU, in the central time zone, gets the 6 PM (central) time slot...but Toledo/BGSU, in the eastern time zone, gets the 7 PM (central time zone) time slot? Makes perfect sense...

I get it, TV gets to choose the game they want, but good grief.

I agree its not fan friendly.

My point was that ESPN is not trying to ONLY screw the MAC fanbases...its all of them for the sake of the best few TV match ups and screw the rest of them.
