Misississippi State 21
Alabama 17

common denominator is das playoff kommittee is made for tv markets full of crap system
Maybe, but given four playoff spots, how would any other system be significantly different?
the way it was before. the playoff is just a bogus marketing scheme. why not have a system where you can have a split poll. more than one champion. that was part of the genius of college football. now we just have a bullshite committee.
I get that, but remember, the way it was before under the old pre-BCS poll-and-bowl system was a lot MORE biased against what are now the G5 conferences. They got WAY less of everything - money, TV exposure, and chance to play in big bowl games- under that system.
The BCS and CFP has provided way more opportunities for the Memphis's and USF's of college football than any previous system. E.g., right now both of our schools have a clear-cut path to a major New Year's Day Bowl, keep winning and we will play in one.
25 years ago or 15 years ago, we'd have no chance at all.

Completely agree, but it doesn't mean we're really at an acceptable level now. Imo football needs to determine the CFP standings exclusively with transparent computer standings like college hockey does with Pairwise. There will be controversies for sure, but at least everyone knows where they stand and how they need to fulfill the requirements of the system to get in.

I agree, i was just responding to another poster who was hankering for what he thought was the "good old days" before the BCS/CFP.

Heck no! We need to devise a system where the kids can decide it on the field and not have to worry about a committee or danged computer which is programmed with someone's bias.

Get away from P5 Vs G5 and let it be free for all for whoever wins the title. That means every conference champs.

Realistically, it'd be one conference champ.

Not all conference champions are created equally.

No Thanks...
8 team playoff.
5 P5 conference Champs.
3 At-Large (Open to all conferences)
The CFP Committee should consist of people who are affiliated with college football. No politicians, no actors or any of that stupid stuff.
Every conference would need to have a representative on the committee.
If you want in you better show that you want in none of this 80 -120 SOS crap and it applies to all programs looking for the At-Large.
