5. Auburn 8-2
6. Wisconsin 10-0
7. UGa 9-1
8. OSU 8-2

More like:
1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Miami/Oklahoma
4. Oklahoma/Miami
5. Wisconsin
6. Georgia
7. Auburn

The committee will assume a big jump for Auburn if we beat Alabama. They will assume that the loser of Clemson and Miami in the CCG will determine their seed. And until then they will keep Georgia hanging back. Because if they beat Kentucky and Georgia Tech their fate will be decided in the SEC CCG.

Wisconsin gets the big jump to 5th because the committee really wants a Big 10 representative in the CFP. The only way Wisconsin fails to make it is if they lose a game between now and then.

Right now the committee will be thinking they take the SEC champ. Wisconsin, the ACC champ and Oklahoma. The only way anyone will get two in now will be if Wisconsin loses badly to Ohio State in the CCG, and Oklahoma drops another one. Then if Clemson beats Miami the ACC could sneak two in. Or if Alabama beats Auburn and loses a close one to Georgia.

But I think those scenarios are now more remote. I don't think OSU factors in at all (Oklahoma State or Ohio State). The Pokes have no defense and the Buckeyes have two blow out losses one of which was not to a top 10 school.

Miami will be #2 over Clemson after this tonight. Really meaningless in the long run as they'll play.

Alabama, Georgia (still), Clemson, Miami, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin control their own fates. If they win out, they are in the playoff. Ohio St gets really interesting because if they win and someone knocks off Oklahoma- going to not be that much left that could top them. Even including Oklahoma.

As does Auburn...

If we win out.

Going based off of what I see right now and possible finishes.

Wins:

Bowl Team Missouri
Bowl Team Texas A&M
Top 20ish Mississippi State
Top 5-6 Georgia
Top 4 Alabama
Top 5-6 Georgia

Even with the 2 losses on the road it wont matter.

@ Top 2-3 Clemson
@ Top 20 LSU

We'll have played 6 ranked teams beating 4 of them with 3 top 5 wins. If we win out, we're in. No one would have that kind of overall resume' wins wise.

How about this scenario:

Georgia 12-1 SEC CCG winner
Alabama 12-1 SEC CCG loser
Clemson 12-1 ACC CCG winner
Miami 11-1 ACC CCG loser
Oklahoma 12-1 Big 12 CCG winner
Wisconsin 12-1 Big Ten CCG loser
Ohio State 11-2 Big Ten CCG winner
USC 11-2 Pac-12 CCG winner

Georgia, Clemson, and Oklahoma should be in under this scenario. Who would be the 4th team in?

RE: Laughable Scores - 2017 Football - Week 11
I’d feel reasonable comfortable penciling in OU. I suppose WVU could give them a shot but if we face them again in CCG we clearly don’t match up well. Patterson’s defenses have always had trouble against great QBs. Mayfield is clearly a great QB. They could have had 800 yards of offense if they needed to tonight against our D which had been playing very well.

Well, you would be choosing from 3 CCG losers so Alabama. They'll have on more win than Miami and a better resume' than Wisconsin.

I think Auburn would get in pretty easily over Miami in that scenario. They will take a 11-2 champ with a very strong resume over a 12-1 non champ that just loss, even in a close game.

I think it would be between Alabama and Ohio State depending on the specifics of the games. Probably Alabama if it was a close game and assuming they were #1 heading in.

If the top 3 or 4 best teams were in one conference das kommittee would never rank them all in the top four. can you imagine the complete mental breakdown that espn executives would have if alabama, georgia, auburn, central florida were the top 4 teams in the country.

tvs in the northeast - click
tvs in the southwest - click
tvs in the pacific coast - click
tvs in the midwest - click

it will never happen. it is all a farce

The question would be Miami vs Auburn. It would be extremely close.

We'll have to see if it gets to that point.

It would be hard to argue that in the scenario that Auburn wins out that they wouldn't be the best team in the country.

The Clemson game was played early, Stidham was playing his 2nd game in 2 years. They'll take that into account as well as the fact Auburn didn't have KJ who is arguably the best RB/playmaker in the country. He was also hobbled against LSU still recovering from his game 1 injury (Yes I know he carried 31 times and ran for 150+ and a TD but on a couple of breakaway chances he couldn't run full speed and he protected his injury quite a bit). Pettway (Who was the top statistical RB in the SEC last year) won't be as he's done for the season.

Also, Auburn would have been the only team to beat 2 and play 3 teams in the top 4 of the CFP at any point in the season. (If Georgia wins out and sneaks back into the top 4 before the CCG it'll be played 4 and beat 3).

Miami will have played 2 and beat 1.
Clemson would have played 2 and beat 2. (If Auburn is in the top 4 if not it'll be 1 and 1)
Oklahoma would have played zero and beat zero.
Wisconsin would have played zero and beat zero.

Auburn would have 4 CFP wins. Conference Ship

Miami would have 2 CFP wins.

Clemson would have 4 CFP wins. Conference Ship

Wisconsin we don't know yet because Iowa is about to drop out. Should be 2 CFP as long as NWestern doesn't lose to Minnesota. Conference Ship

Oklahoma would have 4 CFP wins. Conference Ship

As far as the quality of wins, no team would have what Auburn has. 3 top 5 wins. Clemson would have 2. Miami would have 1. No one else has that at all.

It's not as cut and dry as some people wanna think. That was proven when Penn State who had the head to head win over Ohio State and won the B1G Championship was left out for Ohio State.

SoS, wins, losses, eye test, best team right now, and so on will come into effect.

It'll definitely be interesting, but I'm gonna stick with what everyone has been saying for the last couple of weeks. If Auburn wins out, we're in. I like it better than any other scenario 03-razz.

I agree. The two-loss teams are out unless their resumes are clearly better than all of the one-loss teams, and they would not be better than Alabama's or Miami's. Alabama's quality wins would be a bit better than Miami's.

this has to be a fluke.

It's now CSU by 45-38 in the 4th quarter. Near-freezing temperature apparently isn't slowing the offenses too much.

Notre Dame 10-2
Alabama and Miami are in easily. Who are the other 2?

USC can't be both 11-2 and the CCG loser, because they already have 2 losses.

lol, my bad. So who do you think the other 2 would be?

ND definitely gets in because they're ND. I think the 4th spot goes to Ohio State because the committee has shown they'll go to great lengths to get tOSU in the CFP.

Georgia, Clemson, and Oklahoma should be in under this scenario. Who would be the 4th team in?

In that scenario, TCU and Ohio State, even if USC is 11-2 and the Pac-12 winner.

#3. Notre Dame once again confirms they are a fraud. No one that understands football is shocked. Wake freaking Forest scored 37 on that clown show last week. Just a made for tv fictional program. Their best win got taken to the woodshed by Auburn. I cant wait to hear the talking heads spin this crap. Hell im not convinced Miami is even that good, they havent beaten anyone this year worth a crap either.

Maybe, but you were awful silent when ND cruised through seven straight wins.

Nothing from you but crickets. Now....here you are.

nah, i watched them gorge on cupcakes trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and they did exactly what they always do choke on a bone.

Terry D is correct, your jumping on the hater bandwagon now isn't very impressive after weeks of silence. 07-coffee3
