Joe Burrow is leaving OSU. Will be eligible as a Grad Transfer with 2 years of eligibility.

I know the chances are slim to none, but I can dream right?

I'm already seeing Nebraska and/or Florida popping up as likely destinations, of course that is probably all speculation at this point.

Maybe we can all be so lucky in that his girlfriend is graduating from OSU and will be a grad student at UC or something.

Scuttlebutt in Columbus was that he was a lock to go to Oklahoma State as he had some connection there. I don't think UC is on his radar, though he could potentially solve one of our biggest issues.

UC listed as one of seven potential landing spots:

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him at UC or Ohio. He is leaving OSU because he can't get on the field. If he goes to Florida or Nebraska he is going to be in the same position having to compete with younger talent for the job. I would think he would want to go somewhere that would make him the starter right away.

Seems like a no-brainer. He could put up monster numbers in this conference if our line can keep him up.

RE: Football Class of 2018 Part Deux
Looks like Joe will be visiting tomorrow.

Quote:The hottest free agent on the college football market may not be without a home for long. Former Ohio State quarterback Joe Burrow lined up his first two official visits, according to Sports Illustrated’s Bruce Feldman.

Burrow could stay in state to finish his career with an official visit beginning tomorrow at Cincinnati. He follows a trip to the Bearcats with a weekend visit to LSU, Feldman reports. Both schools are considered top options for Burrow.

Both the Bearcats and Tigers have playing time to win at the position, and Burrow brings two years of immediate eligibility alongside his impressive high-school resume.

Burrow announced Tuesday his intentions to leave Ohio State.

What could LSU or Cincinnati get in Burrow as a quarterback? Bucknuts editor Dave Biddle says “an excellent one.”

“Right away, you’re going to get a quality starting quarterback, who you get two years of eligibility,” he said. “He’s eligible right away. He’s a guy that places the football so well on his throws. He doesn’t have a cannon for an arm, but he doesn’t have a weak arm. He places the football so well. He’s a much better runner than people think. He’s a tough guy. He was Ohio’s ‘Mr. Football.’ He played his best in the playoffs against the best teams. What they’re going to get is a kid that’s going to be their starting quarterback for two years. He’s going to be a really good starting quarterback for two years.”

LSU has three quarterbacks on the roster currently battling things out. There was no clear winner coming out of spring practices, leaving the door open for someone like Burrow to come in and start. Justin McMillan is the veteran quarterback while Myles Brennan is a pocket passer that got experience last year. Lowell Narcisse brings a ton of athleticism, but needs to improve his accuracy and consistency.

For Cincinnati, the quarterback race begins with Hayden Moore, who is the only Bearcat passer with real in-game experience. Cincinnati also has sophomore Jake Sopko and freshmen Ben Bryant and Desmond Ridder.

Florida has also been in the conversation based on scheme, need and the fit with Dan Mullen. Mullen, however, has been strong in his public statements about a graduate transfer.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Burrow was ranked as the No. 8 dual-threat QB and the No. 280 overall prospect nationally in the 2015 class, per the 247Sports Composite. As a senior in 2014, Burrow won the Ohio Mr. Football Award, and led his team to the D-III state championship game.

We also play OU home/away the next two years. Wonder if that's an incentive for him - to try carving up his dad's defense?

I know, we don't play AT OU until 2021, but have them here this year and OSU next year (assuming they don't buy us out again).

"How about our #DarkHorse 2018 WR Alec Pierce, the Glenbard West senior who’s heading to play @GoBearcatsFB This weekend, Pierce won EVERY TRACK & FIELD EVENT in which he participated at the conference track meet:

200M
Long jump
Triple jump
4x100 relay"

This guy is a freak athlete. 6'3" too. This guy was an absolute steal. Looking forward to his career as a Bearcat.

Yikes. That's incredible, and he has some terrific size to boot. If I remember, we beat out a host of Big Ten programs to land him......

He was a really good looking prospect on film IMO.

Yep...honestly the best WR on film that I've seen come to UC, not counting Shaq, although all of his was as a QB in high school.

247Sports only show 10 recruits actually enrolled and 13 signed but not enrolled. Is that correct?

Sounds like we've picked up a grad transfer OT from Rhode Island. Dino Boyd. Started all 11 games at LT for the Rams last season.

That list on 247 Sports is a little outdated - usually best to keep an eye on the official roster on GoBearcats to see which signees are on campus around this time of the year. There could always be a couple that are listed that don't actually "make it" on the ultimate roster for the upcoming season but it's usually pretty accurate.

Doing a quick cross-check, all 23 players listed on 247's site are only on the 2018 GoBearcats roster.
