Secondly Shamet scored way over his season average and Kentucky's best players scored under their averages and shot very poorly. Some of that has to do with WSU's defense of course, but some also has to do with two guys just not shooting that well.
Says this .. then turns around and says that Tulsa will be WAY better than everyone including all the experts and national media expects.

Someone always scores way over their season average in WSU games. That’s what happens when you have 11 capable weapons, 2 future NBAers, and a leading scorer that averages 11.
But the team made up of 11 capable weapons, 3 current lottery picks, and a leading scorer who averages 19 and those 3 guys don't play to their averages has nothing to do with the close score?

Averages mean they had numbers higher and lower during the year. That's how an average works.
So yes the defense that WSU played that held them to below their average definitely contributed.
BTW I'm so glad we have such an amazing analyst in yourself on this board. Without you, I would be mislead by every other local, regional, and national analyst that does this for a living. I'm so glad you are here to always set the record straight about why they are incorrect in their analysis.

Whoa whoa whoa.. I do believe that WSU requested an exit clause that if there ever wasn't popcorn in the gazebo, we are out!

Awww, thats cute but you know your 3/4 athletic teams dont get to go to the gazebo, thats for the full sized programs that have football. We play you all in the saddle to the right of the gazebo. Ask your final four team, they took it in the chops there, i'm sure they can point it out.

“Game of his life” Landry Shamet shot UNDER his normal 3 pt %.
Malik Monk shot OVER his average 3 pt %
Isaiah Briscoe shot OVER his average 3 pt %
Derek Willis shot OVER his average 3 pt %
Mychal Mulder shot OVER his average 3 pt %
Dominque Hawkins shot OVER his average 3 pt %
De’Aaron Fox (a 25% 3 pt shooter) was 0-1
Wenyen Gabriel (who?) was 0-1
Advanced analytics will tell you that defense has the lowest effect on 3 pt %. You know what is easily controlled by defense? People driving into the lane. People posting up. People pulling up from mid-range. Come on dude. JFC

RE: Exhibition Games + Other News:
Every time the Shox win a game in the tourney, it turns out their opponent "just had a bad shooting night". After that happens about 10 times, there's sort of a pattern emerging. Yes, WSU is just "lucky" because their opponents just never have good shooting nights. That luck has carried over into the regular season too.
It is good to notice that Cincy plays defense too, so there are at least some AAC fans who understand the concept.
