SPECTRUM (Charter Cable TV) for UAB fans
I have Spectrum cable TV and made a change to my package last spring. I'm posting this information because I have not heard of anyone else doing this and it was a good deal for me.
When Charter purchased Time Warner Cable, there were two different programming platforms available to Spectrum.
I changed my package to Spectrum Gold (in the Time Warner view). You must be specific with Spectrum or they will put you (in the Charter view).
My package gives me (7) PAC-12 channels and BeIN network without having to purchase the Hispanic tier (required in Charter view).
I got the package for $20 less than what I was paying for Charter Silver package minus the Hispanic tier.
I goy my initial information speaking to a Charter phone representative after midnight. I was skeptical that the different package was truly available in my area but he switched me on the spot.

I knew the packages were different between providers, but didn't know they were all available to me. They need to hurry up and make this universal for the merged company. I'm sure negotiated contracts have something to do with it.

Without switching packages, the pac 12 network and other channels are available on the spectrum tv app even if you are not paying for them. I watch on my Roku. The beIN Spanish channel is there, but not the sports channel we play on. FYI

The pac 12 isn't on my box, but is on the app. Go figure.

The PAC-12 channels were NOT available in my lineup until he switched me to the Time Warner view. That was why I was skeptical. I live in Mountain Brook. So if you are just scrolling up and down the channels, you will think programming not available too. The channels will not show up on your cable box until a switch to Time warner view done. The channels will not show up if you have the Charter view.

Gotcha.

Also, send that box back you're paying for and just watch using the app on Roku or other devices. I'm down to only one box in the house.
