Coming into the season I thought he may overtake AJ at QB. Honestly I'd nearly forgotten about him until I saw that quote from Clark today. Hopefully he can get that medical hardship/redshirt and get an extra year.

Well that answers why he didn’t get to play. I hope for a RS.

Hopefully he can get the redshirt. Would be nice to have him as a likely starter for 3 years after AJ graduates. But this leaves us thin at QB. We'd be in trouble if AJ went down.

I was wondering why Tyler didn't get to play in a blowout at home. Let's really hope he gets that redshirt, because I am excited about 3 years with him at the helm. Assuming he can stay healthy and the shoulder/elbow injuries that he has had aren't issues that linger forever.

In the press conference he said they'd only play him if absolutely necessary. I wonder if he'd come in if AJ were to suffer an injury that would knock him out a few weeks? I guess it just depends on how confident they are in Binn.

I'm confident in Turner's ability at QB, along with Brown,Lee,Noble, Stephens, and Thomas carrying the rock.
Also looks like Heath may be gone as the school's official site has removed him.

All of this conjecture suggests a priority that a new QB will have to be sought in Dec - from JUCO ranks - and in Feb from high school.

I think the one we have committed(high school) is pretty good...

Yeah we already have a good high school QB committed - Dylan Hopkins.

OK, that's one in Feb. from HS, now who will be ready in 2018 if neither AJ nor Johnston can start? I would think Clark plans on a red shirt year for Hopkins and plans to have him compete with Johnston in 2019.

He's a true DTQB. Good speed and has a nice arm. I think he has a lot of potential.

Can we play a QB with the number 91? He did start out at Eastern Illinois.

He had a chance at QB. Now, they'll see if he can play DE. Hope it works out at DE, he seems to be a good athlete. Definitely has good size.

So now we're down to Turner, Binn, and Willis? I'm pretty confident in Turner, Binn and Willis not so much.

Hope he gets that redshirt. That would put him and his Brother leading the team from the offense and defense position. Kyle Looks good but unless AJ goes down, don't see much need unless we get up by 50 again. Blynn looked good though. Hope AJ can finish it out with 2 more wins plus one. Win Out. Either way congrats to the AJ he has been unmeasurable.

Would be interesting if Tyler finished his eligibility after Thomas.

I was actually relieved to see this. I was afraid he might be getting restless since he wasn't playing. The injury explains everything
