Wisconsin being ranked 3rd with a worse resume than UCF is more pathetic than you responding to every one of my posts.

Why the angst? UCF SOS sucks. Lets just call a spade a spade.

They are a good team, they have won the games on their schedule, and the hurricane screwed them out of a nice OOC chance. Being all that as it may, their SOS sucks. If I was them, I'd be fine with the ranking.

Maybe is Cincinnati had anything remotely resembling a football team our SOS might be better. 05-nono

It's always interesting when I hear fans of AAC programs ding our schedule, knowing that their own program being terrible is a large part of why our SOS isn't what they think it should be.

Let's just recap: we annihilated an FIU team which now appears to be on track to winning CUSA. Annihilated a Top 25 Memphis team. Beat a Navy team that spent a week in the Top 25. Went on the road and beat a decent B1G Maryland team. And just went on the road and beat a 6-2 SMU team.

So if there's an "issue" with our SOS then I implore you to please improve Cincy's program to help with that.

thanks.

Georgia Tech is no world-beater this year. Even if UCF had obliterated them, CFP politics would not have helped the Knights.

The problem is, just that. Not to offend anyone, but teams that should be better.

Tulsa (Rebuilding)
Cincy (New coach, rebuilding)
ECU (Something)
Temple (New coach, rebuilding)
Houston (New coach, rebuilding)
Navy (Down year)
SMU (A season away)

Those are the teams in the conference that are expected to be players to solid players. In conference they can do ok but we're going to beat each other up in conference typically. Where we need all of our teams to be strong is OOC. The top teams in any given year will beat up the middle and the bottom. The middle will beat up the bottom and so on.

If we can win some big OOC games then it makes the conference look stronger. We can't keep losing by 4-5-6 scores against the stronger opponents on our schedules.

The AAC is going to be viewed weaker at the top because we weren't able to do anything OOC. We had our chances.

I think next year, the conference as a whole will have stronger teams as long as we bring in solid replacements for the coaches we're bound to lose.

Could you imagine where we'd be today if.

Herman was coaching Houston.
Taggert was coaching USF. (I think he's better than Strong)
Rhule was coaching Temple.

To add too.

Norvell at Memphis
Frost at UCF.
Morris at SMU.
Niumatalolo at Navy.

We could have potentially had 5 or 6 maybe even 7 teams capable of being top 30. There is a lot of turnover at our top schools and not everyone follows a Fuente up with a Norvell or a coach that can make an impact immediately.

I think next season or the season after we can really push for something big as long as everyone improves and the coaching hires are correct. We're not gonna get respect because we want it or by being 11-1 or 12-0 against 80-120 SOS's. We have to do better against better competition OOC and the teams within have to get better.

*** Even with all of this, we are still easily the class of the G5. Our goals aren't to be the best G5 though. It's to plant an AAC Flag into the upper echelon and really turn into a (P) conference. ***

whoa whoa whoa hoss....settle down

I'm not 'dinging' your schedule. The simple fact is your SOS isn't good. It's not a knock, it's just reality. Some of it is the hurricane, some of it is crap teams in this conference pull it down, etc.

No sense being crabby....your sos isn't good, I'm pointing that out to say your ranking is probably about right.

Yes, these UCF fans are extremely touchy about their SOS. The fact is it's a soft SOS and screaming "we beat Memphis!!" twenty times doesn't change that fact.

It will get stronger, but right now, it's soft. Sagarin says #92, which is very soft.

Quo, surely you understand that USF fans have been sensitive about their SOS all season. Without looking it up, I'm pretty sure it is still worse than UCF's, so it seems a little ironic that a USF fan would be chastising UCF fans for being sensitive about their SOS.

RE: Week 11 Coaches Poll
SoS might be weak now, we do have a couple good wins and IF we run the table there will be 2 more quality wins. Memphis, @Navy, @Maryland, @SMU are all good wins, 2 of them with a big margin of victory. In all of the other games we've destroyed the competition.

My only ranking issue is with the CFP. There's too many teams ahead of us with multiple losses/similar schedules/got blown out by 31 by an unranked team. We were never going to make it into the playoffs this year so it's not a HUGE deal but like many/all schools in this conference we're looking for any kind of legitimacy we can get so being ranked lower sucks in that regard.

True. You'll get either a quality win or a quality loss this weekend.

It's not ironic for THIS Bulls fan to be doing it, because I've agreed all along that our SOS is extremely bad, worse than UCF's.

But that's not the issue here. 07-coffee3

Not having a QUALITY LOSS is what's holding us back I think.
