I have no problems with ESPN3, mine looked just as clear as CBS that was on the other screen right next to it.

Again, I think this team can still get to 6-6. 5-7 might get them to a bowl game still as well, if enough teams aren't eligible.

The production quality on ESPN3 is sub-par. Announcers, graphics, camera work, etc. are all pretty bad. Picture quality is just fine, though. I will say that it was like a broadcast of Monday Night Football compared to whatever that was for the Miami (OH) game.

That's a fair point. I thought people were mostly complaining about picture quality. I don't listen to the announcers most of the time anyways, so for me that doesn't make a difference.

SO I kept WLW on my I-Heart Radio app, and every time the ESPN3 broadcast would freeze I would put the radio on until I could get the video working again. Happened about seven times.

But loved the win. I forget who posted it on here, but I have already used the line "Tulane just Miami of OH'd all over itself" several times.

This was my problem as well; although we probably experienced a minimum of 50 screen freezes which I intend to address with Cincinnati Bell Fioptics. Murphy's Law kicks in of course and the freezes occur at the instant the ball is snapped or the official is about to announce a ruling on the field.

I tolerated it better after a win though.

RE: Things Are Improving
I think we all agree that the "3" in ESPN3 should stand for third rate. Sometimes it is picture quality (actually good at Tulane). Other times is is announcers (mediocre at Tulane) or production (miserable last Saturday).

However, I like that I can always get it. When the game is on ESPNU, or Enews, or CBSSN, I have problems. (I don't like the European feeds that try to download a bunches of stuff onto my PC) I can live with the occasional streaming drop, as long as I can re-acquire it quickly.

As to the team, as long as we are playing the bottom half of the AAC, it looks like we can at least compete. I am looking forward to the Temple game.

Having lived through the teams of the 60's and 70's, I know that sometimes you have to just wait till next year. That doesn't mean that I like it.

When it's on ESPN3, I treat it like it's DVRed and I do something else during the day and watch it at my leisure. Get to skip all the stupid commentary and commercials, too.

I also think when it is archived for replay there are no buffering issues. Plays seamlessly.

You guys don't have IHeart radio app on your phone? I listen to Dan and Jim Kelly. I run my phone via bluetooth to my TV sound bar and sub woofer.

Isn't there a noticeable delay between radio and tv?

Typically yes...but that can be done over by simple "pause and effect".

I had a couple spots where I had a short drop I the steam, but never got an unavailable message. I'd be talking to Bell about that. I'm in Spectrum, BTW.

Yeah, I've never had an issue with the stream in any of the games so far this year...but I'm up in NWO on Buckeye Cable.

It depends. Saturday was not bad at all, just a few seconds. There are radio delay apps also.

ESPN 3 is the D league announcing and camera crew. The best of ESPN 3 is covering the ACC and SEC games. The B10 and Pac10 also have some games on ESPN 3. In effect, we are getting the worst of the D list announcing/film crew.

5 years ago this game would have been radio or nothing. I'll take the concussed former lineman who can't count to twelve doing color commentary, the camera men who occasionally linger on the 12 yard line instead of the ball carrier, the production staff who thinks there are 5 'i's' in Cincinnati, and the guy who apparently couldn't see a single jersey number doing play by play, over not seeing a game at all.

I actually liked the Miami game production...who knew you could have a sitcom, an air traffic controller patched in over CB, and a football game all in one broadcast

I recall at one point the announcer referenced Hayden Moore's size and said he was 6'10. Lots of plays just totally missed while pointing the camera at the sideline. Having no idea what the penalty was or who it was called on (actually not even acknowledging there was a penalty at all). Great theater.

Pretty sure I also heard him say that if Hayden could develop a little consistency he would be one of the best qb's in the nation. This was right after he went on and on about how strong Hayden's arm was.
