I have an ******* neighbor who thinks he's allowed to blow leaves that fall from my trees on his property back into my yard...along with some of his leaves as well as tiny pine cones that fall from a tree in his backyard that he blows all the way to my front yard.

If I wasn't basically a pacifist, I can easily see us coming to blows over this.

And FWIW - The guy didn't club Paul with a tire iron in the chest, he tackled him. So acting like the guy was trying too or knew he would break his ribs...to try and make this more than it is, is weak.

If you are going to insist that this is not a politically-motivated event (which sounds like the case, with a caveat*), you'd be more credible if you didn't try to defend a lunatic who thought he could settle a dispute by tackling his neighbor. Whether he specifically knew ribs would be broken is incredibly irrelevant.

*It's worth noting that people with similar values often have an easier time finding common ground, so I'd guess the anger here is at least tangentially related to differing politics.

I'm not insisting that, nor am I defending the guy. I'm just pointing out that much of the language and assumptions being used here in this thread are pretty ridiculous when we don't know much of anything about this guy yet.
