Marshall-FAU
Is Les Miles coaching FAU????

2:30 left, 1st and 10 at their own 43, up 30-23. 3 losses totaling 19 yards. 4th down they give Marshall a safety (I presume it was intentional-I'm just looking at ESPN play by play). Still 8 seconds left. Marshall gets a TD and they win.

If you don't want to risk a fumble, you don't lose 5-9 yards every time. You can punt from your 35-40 with not much more than 8 seconds left. Maybe the FAU coach thought he could run it out and can't do math.

Its final so they won, but it sure seems like some choices that made it more risky, not less.

RE: Marshall-FAU
The qb was retreating and running around a bit before falling down on each play to run extra time off the clock.

RE: Marshall-FAU
The problem in the thing was 1st down. The QB did an instant knee. If he runs around a smidge more they probably would have been able to run out the clock with no issues.

I can understand not wanting to punt there.
