Congrats Dragon fans, Clark is a gem, really good coach and my highest respect for staying and extending w/ UAB.

I wonder what they buyout is. With the success he's having that may come into play before the end of this deal.

Maybe a couple million. Someone is going to come knocking in a year or two. I'm just thankful to have him while we do.

RE: Bill Clark, UAB agree to 5 year extension
Till he gets those retirement years in he's not going anywhere....
after that he might bolt at any offer. Or he might be a 1 in 100 and say this is enough money for me and I don't care about winning a national championship. I didn't read the link on how much UAB is paying but it would be a huge mistake to make it more than UAB can afford to buyout. If money is the deciding factor none of us can keep a coach. So there is no need in paying more than a school can buyout.
Again didn't read the article...that's been my opinion on coaches for a long time now. Even those that win and we dream about keeping.

People find it hard to believe. But every now and then a city, school and HC sync. Those HCs decide they LOVE where they are at. Our MBB HC falls in that category.

Coach Clark actually got his 25th year in with the state retirement last year. Course, the more money he makes now, the more he gets from the retirement system.

And sometimes it's not love. I was there on December 2nd. What Ray Watts did to Bill Clark and his players is unforgiveable. We throw out that word all the time, but I mean it: it cannot be forgiven within the scope of human ability.
We humiliated Ray Watts. Ray has not forgotten, and he blames Clark. Nothing would make him happier than to see Clark leave. I understand this very well: I would eat dirt and work for nothing before I made that pudgy little pumpkin-headed traitorous bastard happy. What the hell is a "job" next to that? Or money? Or fame? **** all that, and **** Ray Watts.
Clark in turn swore an implicit oath, and Ray Watts forced him to break it. A man of honor does not forget that. I strongly suspect that Clark at a minimum is here as long as Ray Watts is (Ray is 63, but not yet fully vested). No amount of cash or "opportunity" outweighs forcing Ray Watts to eat ****.
Every time the turnstile clicks, every time the football is snapped, every time a beer is downed - Ray Watts, Paul W. Bryant Jr. and the rest of their cabal of slug-like fat white ******** each dies a little inside.

10/10. Grinned ear to ear while reading the last paragraph.

That's his boss (and Ray Watts is his boss' boss). No need to create a public rift when things have been/are being handled behind closed doors. There are plenty of ways for outside parties to crank up the public pressure if necessary - Clark doesn't need to wade into the muck. Besides, including the Foundation in his statement is more of an effU to the administration than you would think.
