He actually said the Toledo offense starts with the QB, he is really good. Logan is a good player and we faced him last year. He also played some as a freshman. He went on to be very complimentary of him and the offense.

Part of the quote because I found it odd that a guy who led the nation in TD passes is referred to in the beginning of that quote as a guy who “played some last year”. The dots after the word “year” in my initial post indicate that I was only using part of the quote. To me that’s like Amstutz saying “they got a guy named Wolf who got some carries for them last year...”.

Listen to it again. Carey said Woodside was very good. Then he said NIU played against him last year AND Woodside played some the year before that or his freshman year.

It appears you’re struggling with this whole quote thing. Click on the link, go to the third paragraph and read sentence two and the first clause of sentence three. The article may misquote Carey, I don’t know. I didn’t listen to the recorded interview. However, the article, from an NIU source, says what I said it says and I find it odd.
