CUSA Tip-off Program
On Watch ESPN now. Just watched Floyd, Dantoni and McCasland and they just finished up with a conference official going over points of emphasis this year.

Said NCAA wants more possessions. So if you commit a defensive foul in the front court clock is resetting to 20 seconds instead of 30. Said the 10 seconds missing were for bringing it up. That was interesting.

Said they cleaned up out front in the last 5 years and now tasked to do it down low. Said bigs will be called for moving picks if they’re not set.

Said if two defenders pinch an offensive player they have to give him room to swing elbows to clear himself enough to shoot, make a pass, or dribble out. Says the defenders can close out but can’t be physical.

They have 3 of the women coaches on right now.

I got the impression that Kermit and Rick get along. Nobody that either would rather beat because of the school affiliation but I really enjoyed their interviews being together.

I’d never watched one of these before. It was as good as anything else on tv. You could tell the interviewer had done his homework on both mens and womens teams. He had a good rapport with all the coaches. Kept everything upbeat. Knew everybody’s situations coming into the year.

Ron Thulin is play by play guy for most of the Stadium games, before that he did ASN and Fox Sports with mostly CUSA teams and lives close by in Texas....He is CUSA guy and has known these coaches for years, used to have a weekly CUSA show on FoxSports with a girl who is now sports anchor for local ABC station here in Lexington, Kennedy Hariman....Still feels like a slap in the face she went from CUSA to covering UK athletics, oh well haha...

I didn't know all of Ron Thulin's background but have always enjoyed his work going back many years. C-USA is lucky to have him. Great job on the broadcast last night. Very informative.

The Men's and women's tourney games of same school will no longer be at the same time, according to Judy.

We've run into that a lot with MT
