ABO is still alive and well...
I wanted time to reflect. I didn't want to knee-jerk with a reaction. (Plus, I left my login information at the office)... But the ABO is very much in effect..

Some observations:

1) Glaesman is a play-maker....he really is.. He competed hard and the hat is to be tipped.... But as a play-maker, he's hardly a "QB" yet. 7-16 with 2 INT's and a fumble won't get it done. He showed a great deal of moxy, but his 150 or so yards passing came on two plays basically. And outside of some decent running ability, he is a play maker.... for both teams... His "minus" plays are suicidal.

2) Did anyone else notice play calling? Lynch to the sideline, BeerStoner to the PB... Run, run, run, run, run, run, run... Look- I actually think the game was called smartly. Who knew that LA Tech played two below touch vs. the run?

3) The post game comments... QB mistakes were "young".. have to "work through them"... "lot of Freshman" battling their tails off....

4) Tangtonic claims it "wasn't because of the ABO"... But he's so wrong... It was "EXACTLY BECAUSE OF THE ABO".. I'm not yet ready to claim righteous victory on my claims, but as much as my friend sees what this IS NOT, I see what this IS.

So as for the ABO, it is still clear... This staff is prepping for the "we had to play young, please keep us" line... It is coming... Glaesman has had four starts and shown nothing different... turnovers that lead to opponent points and "flashes" of play making... The head coach calls him "young and improving and potentially great". The previous QB had four starts.. total... is also still young.. deemed "ineffective" and somehow benched for the Army game lifting a redshirt for a player obviously now not going to be of use this year and not ready...

Just wait for it... The ABO is coming boys and girls... The Owls fought hard.. And the Owls lost.. The Conference USA schedule is about to make everyone feel "warm and fuzzy" about "how tough these young guys are battling and improving". And DB will remind us "how young these guys are battling and improving" every time he hits the mic.

28 points is a facade. At the very least.. the very least.. the ABO will now point to the "turning point" of flipping roles and game day assignments for the OC and QB coach.

Y'all gonna rue the day you doubted the ABO....

I forgot. What is ABO and how does going for it on fourth and 12 fit in?

But Bailiff cannot hide his 4-16 record the last two seasons.

If JK keeps Bailiff, both should be fired by Leebron.

RE: ABO is still alive and well...
Like I said... the change of locations for the offensive coaches was a welcome site... And maybe it helped play calling... Going for it on 4th and 12? Even a football idiot would have done that... Remember, they also ran flea flicker at Pitt.. So being "daring" within a game isn't groundbreaking....

The ABO is now in full implementation... whether or not these "young guys" play better and even well remains to be seen... But the ABO is an agenda to maintain employment on the excuse of "building with Freshmen"... They've been told or at least whispered to that a narrative of "more freshmen means more chance at leniency"...

But let's see how the rest of the season plays out... Y'all know the circumstances are right for an extension by "excuse"..

The media drops and narratives are all pointing us to the obvious....

Tyner was in for the final Hail Mary attempt.

I'd love to hear the rationalization for how that fits the ABO. (Not really)

Ourland, the quote (btw when you use quotes, use the exact words, my friend) is "But not because of the ABO." No past tense used.

My comments on Bailiff potentially being retained are based on something besides 'ABO'. I fear that the AD simply has too many fires at once.

One solution available is to kick the can down the road further on football since, to be polite, the FB program really cant get much frackin' worse. Triage. Get solutions in place for baseball, and keep the effort on basketball.

That is the unstated basis of my comments and prediction.

Is it not obvious? Even the beat writer tweeted the INT without context... Now he has 2 Td's and 5 INT's... makes the "ineffective" line look that much better....

Why else did Rice football only have his stat line posted and not the other two QB's last week?

All three have (at the very least) similar stat lines...

Man... there's more evidence here than Watergate...

Pretty sad that the word "triage" gets used to describe the Rice athletic program. Even sadder that it fits.

I don't believe in any conspiracy. I think people at Rice will look for reasons to keep the coach. When the season started, I felt like the team had to win 5 games for sure. I don't think that's the case anymore.

Correlation != causation. The comments above merely indicate bull**** coachspeak and excuses that Bailiff uses no matter what.

If Bailiff was as capable, scheming and astute as you ascribe him to be, we likely wouldn't be 4-16 in the last two years and running a fake FG on 4th and 15.

So I guess we are through with "Bailif won't play talented freshmen because he owes it to the Seniors"? That is soooooooo 2015.
