I just love this time of year - March Madness. There are a lot of great memories of incredible NCAAT games. I will always remember the 1992 E8 clash between Dook and Kentucky. That was one for the ages and Laettner's last second "The Shot" will go down in history as one of the great all time moments in the NCAAT. I was watching the game with my college buddy at his apartment and we both spilt our beers when the shot went down.




Also in that same year, when our Cats beat Michigan State to advance to the S16 it was a moment when I felt we "arrived." Michigan State had beaten us in a 1 point heartbreaker on their floor that same year and we beat them 3 months later in the NCAAT.

Anyone remember this one? I will forever love the Hampton coach's reaction at the end of the game. If you look closely, you'll see Iowa State Coach Eustachy's bourbon flask outline under his pullover.

Tried to find UC vs Georgia Tech 1996 S16 game but couldn't find the video....

We crushed the ACC tourney champs that year.

I remember watching that 1992 game vs Michigan St to get to the sweet sixteen. Was stuck at Ohare airport and one of the bars had it on a small screen totally snowed out. Could barely make out the score. Those were the days.

that uk unc rematch last year was phenomenal. last year's uk team made me forget that i wasn't supposed to like them

1987 Regional Final. Indiana v. LSU.

The Bob Knight phone smashing game. Also the (paraphrase) "I thought the game was lost, then I looked down the court and saw Dale Brown and well, I knew we had a chance" game.

Say what you about the guy, he was great entertainment.

...and the game was an absolute war too.

2005 had the greatest Elite Eight of my lifetime. The games were unreal.

It started with Pittsnogle, Ganzy and an insane shooting performance by Beilein's WVU team.... But Louisville came all the way back to win in OT.





Then came the insane Illinois comeback against Arizona. Illinois had been unbeaten until local product (loveland middle school, moeller high school) Matt Sylvester hit the game winner the last game of the season for OSU. Illinois down 15 with 4:00 minutes to go... Their season is over...then MAGIC.





The "boring" game of the weekend saw Wisconsin lose by 6 to UNC 88-82. The game was one possession inside of a minute to go.

Lastly, we had UK v. Michigan State which had Sparks for UK with the insane 3, bouncing all over the rim and falling as time expired. Michigan State won in OT.

I remember watching this and thinking, if only we could have guards like UConn had.
