I don't think we will have a new offense next year, my opinion Frost stays for year 3 and makes a run at the CCG with his guys and then he could leave knowing he left his legacy.
Coaching $ pool is going up by +$2M this off season by his request.
It doesn't matter.. Herman was makimg 3 mil here and we offered to match whatever he was getting offered. It's about natiomal championships which in the AAC frost wont be able to be contending for
We will see it would be nice to have stability in the conference - hope Memphis and ucf get to keep them.
There are some key differences between the Herman situation and the Frost situation. First, Frost played a lot of years in the NFL and doesn't live extravagantly. A lot of people who know him well (Dungy, Osborne) have publically said, money doesn't drive him.
For a texas coach, UT is the top of college football. You might assume UF is the same in FL, but it's not. UF has a lot of problems and on the very top is that their facilities suck.
This year probably more closely resembles UH's Peach bowl year, when Herman came back.
I hope Frost DOES stick around. UF stole McIlwain from the MWC. I hated to see that. He was doing good work there.
But Frost can play for a NCAA at UF.
If there were a REAL route, a REAL, all-inclusive CFP with each Conference's Champion represented, then I think the AAC and the MWC would lose far fewer coaches (and recruits).
It is hard to continually stay on top when you go through 3 or 4 coaches per decade.
The FL and TX schools will usually be pretty good due to local talent. But until you can tell the big name recruits that they are playing for a NC it is hard to get them.
Hell, even Baylor could say they have a chance.
He's not going to UF. I can say that with almost certainty.
The only question is if he wants to return to make a legit run at something huge in 2018 here, or if he wants to start the Nebraska tenure early. Frankly I think both sides would be content to wait another year.

All I can say is, if Tommy Tuberville shows up at your door tomorrow evening disguised as a football coach, don't give him any candy. If you relent, it'll ruin your outlook for years.
