Still waiting on Charlotte...

But man, how about that turnaround! It's not crazy talk to say FAU and FIU may be the best teams in the conference.
Yeah, Charlotte was awful last year at 3-5 with 2 1 point losses in its first official year of FBS. And this year, leading fiu 26-7 on the road before losing by one point. Pathetic.01-wingedeagle

Bro, you're 1-7. Stop using excuses.

Look, we all hope Charlotte can turn into something, but right now, it's been bad.

I can already see how insufferable you all will be as soon as you get good.
Excuses? For what? I stated facts and didn't we beat your team in our first visit? .......Record is bad this year but don't act like we aren't competitive in this league.

Yes, you beat a crappy Marshall team with serious problems in the locker room last year.

But now you are using facts to try and make a point that you are closer to a turnaround than reality.

Reality is the conference bet on Charlotte, so far it hasn't worked out. I hope it does, but right now when your opposing teams have Charlotte on their schedule, their fanbases expect a win that week.

You are clueless or just trolling. We are 4-8 in conference during our first 2 full fledged FBS seasons with 3 one point losses. Not great, but certainly not terrible for your FIRST 2 years and certainly FAR from guaranteed wins for our opponents. Not sure why you can't understand that.

It can be done, but like I said, CUSA gambled with you guys based on your market. And it's not working out.

But back to the original point, it's good to see FAU and FIU make the jump. Hell of a win today guys!

Two high profile Florida jobs may be vacant by season end, FU Gators and FSU, Kiffin might be of interest to one of these programs, hope that's not the case but looking like he's going to engineer a major improvement after only one season.

In the case of FIU, I disagree. First, Butch is old. I believe he's 65+. I doubt a P5 school would hire a coach that old. Second, he's buyout is one of the highest in the G5 at over 4 mil. I truly believe he'll coach at FIU for 5 years then retire.

Don't go all UCF on us now! Already talking about markets. Man, and for the Charlotte fans, you too.

At this level, we are all cyclical. There are no dynasties. Teams are made for runs. We will all be good some years, we will all be bad.

Please don't act like UCF or that one year ECU was almost good. He'll, ECU fans still think they belong in the ACC.

End rant.

I agree. Teams at this level will have up and down years. Besides, neither FIU or FAU have done anything to boast about. We appear to be heading in the right direction. However, the season isn't over just yet.

RE: FIU & FAU on the rise
It's been rough to be a Charlotte fan for the past five years or so in almost every major sport except soccer... If you consider that to be a major sport. We have a ton of potential but very poor leadership. Coaching lost us several games last season that would have made us bowl eligible. Again coaching lost the game against FIU this season. Maybe someday soon leadership will change but until then I don't foresee us being over average for more than one season.

Not even close to a fair comparison and you know it. We just started playing football in 2013. Those schools had decades of football before moving up.

Fair enough. There will be a day when Charlotte fans have something to cheer about.

All I ask is that when that day comes, celebrate. But just remember this conference took a chance on you guys.

"I know you guys are hoping he leaves fast but Briles wil be good when he takes over too"

IMO Briles will be stuck here for a while.

A lot of schools wont touch him because of baylor.

However if he takes over for Kiffin , keeps his nose clean
and seems like hes learned his lesson he could still get hired
elsewhere.

I'm just glad Judy and Phil are both in their mid 60s. It's the only glimmer of hope I have. If they were in their 50s, i would just give up hope.

Point of order, Western went 2-10 in their second year of FBS(and 0-12 in their first).

They transitioned in 07/08 and were full FBS and Sun Belt members in 2009.

My reason for this post is solely to point out that I do not remember any (or very few) WKU posters arguing for FIU or FAU to be kicked out. Heck, some of the old guard were not happy when WKU joined. Enjoy your success, but do so without feeling the need to insult other programs and fans in the process.
Continued good luck to the Golden Panthers.

PS I am sure my son's good friend (FIU - Class of 07) is enjoying this season as well.

"Their Fans", or a fan hopping on a long awaited for bandwagon. Don't worry as soon as we lose a game or two he'll go right back into hiding.

By the way, the #8 ranked FIU Men's Soccer team just finished the C-USA regular season UNDEFEATED after securing a 2-2 draw at Kentucky. Regular Season Champs and climbing the polls with a bullet. So two of our four Men's programs are having successful seasons.

It's Great to be a G' Panther right about now. 04-cheers

Ding, Ding, Ding.........

I don't ever remember insulting FIU or FAU, but now I'm subjected to read this drivel from their fans. Hell, I thought we beat FIU this year..............

Oh no! A WKU fan and an MTSU fan agreeing with each other. The end times are upon us!

Hell, I've been agreeing with Grandpaw 'Beed for years. 04-cheers

That just illuminates how sharp you are! Hell....you were a hoops first fan long before Kermit got right the last couple. You just need to figure out why your wife keeps having babies. Lol. You’ll soon be like that old tv show Eight is Enough.

I think she has figured it out and gone into retirement, unfortunately 03-banghead
