Many work until 4-5pm and kids have activities or athletic practice after school etc. It gives little time for folks to get to the game on time without skipping out early from their daily responsibilities. If I rush to make it by 6-6:15, I love to chill a bit and have a beer or two in the lot before heading into the game at 7pm. Also, many casual fans won’t tune in on TV as they won’t realize the game is even on 6pm. West coast fans have it bad too if they want to catch the game after work.
