Told you Toledo wouldn’t score 40 lol. That was as bad as this defense can play and they still only scored 27.

Fumbled on the .5 after an 80 yard play and went vanilla under 4 minutes. Very well could have scored 40. We chose to be nice to our little brother.

I’ll give Northern’s defense credit. They defended well against the run and Toledo’s offense became predictable much of 2nd and 3rd quarter. Both coaching staffs weren’t strong last night in play calling. Northern’s near abandonment of the run in the 2nd half was mystifying based off the first series in the 3rd quarter.

Fumbling is not an excuse for not scoring more points. I don't doubt toledo could have scored another td if we had tied the game up.

Believe me, we too have been pretty mystified all season. Things work and then they get abandoned.

You’re trying way too hard, man.

Go enjoy your victory.

We've seen that a lot the last two seasons with what is working on offense.

Dead on. Mistefying why you would run through the defense like a hot knife through butter the only drive you determined to do it, and never did it again (or before). But, hey, we were balanced in throwing v running. 03-idea So I guess that's good! 05-nono 03-hissyfit 03-pissed Shakes head!

Sometimes the D makes a small adjustment that may not be obvious but which precludes continued success of certain plays. I'm no expert but coaches don't get to be coaches because they make random choices about game plans and adjustments. Carey saw something that made him decide to diversify play calling.

Carey doesn't call plays...but yeah, I'm assuming the offensive coaching staff saw some defensive adjustments that they had to counter. Either that or the OC is grossly incompetent
