Oddly enough, I'm OK with our OL. The entire group comes back next year and I'm OK with it. The problem with our OL is our minimized passing attack. We are a run first offense and defenses are loading the box against us, as they should. UNT's safeties played most of the game less than 10 yards from the line of scrimmage. And we clearly struggled against the unusual 3-3 alignment. It's a defense designed to stop interior runs. Coaches have to be able to get around the corner if they have 6 guys bunched up in the middle like that.
Its not odd. The OL has played very well since the first 2 games of the year and really well the last 3 weeks.
The two run attempts at 4th and 1 where we don't convert says differently. I know its just two plays out of the entirety of a game, but those two CRITICAL plays were failures specifically because of the O-line.
So its the OL fault that 5 guys cant block 7 or 8 with DEs crashing down?
Yes, the OL should be able to provide enough push at the specific point of attack, which we know and the D doesn't, to provide a 1 yard gain.

I suspected he was hurt. He has a hip pointer ! Cox had the same thing a few weeks back and he was not effective at all.
Didn’t know he was hurt again. Wasn’t sure if he wasn’t playing because of his fumble against WKU.

The offense comes alive with a healthy Lawry on the field. We really needed someone who could bounce it outside and make them pay for stuffing the middle. Injured Lawry was ineffective when he was on the field in the first half. In the second half the announcers didn't even pick up that he was missing until the 4th quarter and they apparently had no way to get an update. Left all of us wondering what happened. I didn't find out until I read Miller's article.

.... notice the logo on the ball that the UNT player is bouncing off the table during the postgame interview -- that should be a motivator for ODU -- talk about rubbing your nose in it.
Still can't believe we could not gut out a 1 yard gain.

Very well and really well are not a description of how this OL has played. Are you sure you are watching the same team? The one game we ran the ball pretty well was the game where most every run was off tackle with a cut back on the over pursuit. The only hole that was actually blocked open was on the draw that Lawry hit. This OL has not played very or really well all season. Sorry...not buying that analysis. This team is about right where they should be based on capabilities. I just hope we don't lose to UNCC and Rice. That would be embarrassing and would like solidify us as the worst team in CUSA.

I would agree, though I would like to see each one of them lose about 15 points to see if that can improve their quickness.

FAU- 36 carries for 248 yards
Marshall- 36 carries for 81 yards
WKY- 48 carris for 268 yards
North Texas 48 carries for 205 yards
That includes sack yardage. Our RBs are amazing that they can run the ball with only 1 hold opened up by the OL all year.
