if our educators would focus more on core subjects and creativity instead of identity politics, the US would probably go back up in the education system rankings instead of being out of the top 10.

LOL to this professor, her point seems to be "if you're good at stuff and know things, you must be white! And that's terrible!" lol

Rochelle should partner with this professor from England who says:
Quote:“I don’t think parents reading their children bedtime stories should constantly have in their minds the way that they are unfairly disadvantaging other people’s children, but I think they should have that thought occasionally."

Pat the dumb*** on the head and tell her to step aside so that the important people can teach math.

When I was reading bedtime stories like the "Cat in the Hat" to my kids I always tried to work in a few math problems in the dialogue... just because...

I clicked thru the story of the philosophy professor claiming that reading to your kids unfairly disadvantages others. While it sounds utterly ridiculous on the one hand that parents should feel some guilt because other kids don't have the same advantages of a loving family life like their children has, he makes a very compelling (and damning) point that really should be one of the critical root causes of social injustice in the inner city neighborhoods.
Quote:Swift in particular has been conflicted for some time over the curious situation that arises when a parent wants to do the best for her child but in the process makes the playing field for others even more lopsided.
‘I got interested in this question because I was interested in equality of opportunity,’ he says.
‘I had done some work on social mobility and the evidence is overwhelmingly that the reason why children born to different families have very different chances in life is because of what happens in those families.’
Once he got thinking, Swift could see that the issue stretches well beyond the fact that some families can afford private schooling, nannies, tutors, and houses in good suburbs. Functional family interactions—from going to the cricket to reading bedtime stories—form a largely unseen but palpable fault line between families. The consequence is a gap in social mobility and equality that can last for generations.
Interestingly enough, the professor does not condone breaking up families nor trying to make them feel guilty about reading to their kids. What he does take issue with - and this is I believe purely from a utilitarian POV - is that the economic advantages of some families have vs others with more meager means promotes unfairness and maintains gaps between them and lower class people (financially). I think this line of thinking is purely academic for the guy because no doubt he would never give up his own wealth for the sake of equality. No SJW would if you could literally put them to the test.

Rich kids get to go to ivy league schools. That's a shocker. Are we really this petty, that we're upset that Richie Rich has an easier road to learning math?
