LOL.

Your argument reminds me of a buddy's Dad who used to own a Corvette. He'd brag and boast about how it was "just as fast as a Ferrari". No one ever had the heart to tell the truth which was that EVEN IF its as "fast as a Ferrari", it ISN'T A FERRARI. At the end of the day, the guy driving the Ferrari will still be driving a Ferrari and the guy in the Vette will still be in a Chevy.

The Chevy is a perfectly decent car in it's own class, but it ain't a Ferrari. Same for football, the leftovers (or leftouts if you prefer) are the Chevys, the P5 are the Ferraris.

You're trying way too hard

Nah, just trying to get people to realize that rationalization is perhaps the second strongest human impulse.

Anytime someone makes the argument "well my (blank) is just as good as (something that's better)....." they're rationalizing.

Doesn't make them right, just an attempt to feel better about whatever they think is "as good as"....

RE: Central Florida is number 2!
Wolfe still has UCF at 2

Massey Composite has them at 8

I'd go with

1. Bama (1)
2. Georgia (3)
3. Notre Dame (5) up 2 after win ove NC State
4. Ohio State (7) up 3 after win over Penn State
5. Wisconsin (4) beat Illi but UND & tOSU beat better teams
6. Penn State (2)
7. Clemson (6)
8. Miami FL (7)
9. Okla State (12)
10. Oaklahoma (16)

Top G5

11. UCF (10)
26. Memphis (25)
29. Boise St (32)
32. Toldeo (36)

RE: Central Florida is number 2!
UCF and USF will never get to P5 because of The U, UF, and FSU imo. They should be commended on building themselves up to where they are today, but there are obviously a lot more factors in play than what happens on the field.

It's very unlikely, but I do think there's a semi-plausible scenario where the AAC doesn't get the autobid. SMU would have to lose to UCF but win the rest of their regular season, get into the championship game over Memphis with the tiebreaker, then upset whoever wins the East (probably the Knights). Toledo would then have to win out, and while their resume wouldn't be very impressive, going 12-1 with the only loss being The U could be enough to get in over 10-3 SMU. Under those circumstances you may see a MWC team in the mix if they win out. Again, unlikely but not impossible.

So...if UCF were playing Alabama next week, who would you bet on?

I'd go a step further and ask...

If UCF were playing ANYONE listed in the top 15 who would you bet on?

If one's answer is UCF.......

Not a UCF/AAC, but you've been in a couple threads crapping on UCF. Not sure why? Insecurity?

SOS:
UCF - 59
UW - 60

MOV:
UCF - 29.8
UW - 23.3

Home games:
UW - 5
UCF - 3

If UCF/UW finish 13-0, we're likely facing a scenario where UCF has 3 T25 wins and UW has 1. Hopefully for your sake, Sparty doesn't win the East. Bucky is having a great season, but I absolutely would NOT be casting stones at UCF in your shoes. Be thankful for preseason rankings.

Sometimes "crapping on" is done because it's deserved.

I also see several threads where the AAC fanboys rant & rave about how "good" they are and how they "deserve" to play with the big boys. Talk about insecurity. It's like the little brother who has a tantrum because he can't play with the bigger kids.

To throw a Rock quote at them "Know your role and shut your mouth".

If that bowl scenario would take place and UW (or whichever P5 team) stomps a mud-hole in whatever the leftovers throw at them, I won't gloat too much

Pure gold.

UCF's bowl win moved them up three spots in the Sagarin ranking, from #16 to #13.

Wrong question,

Should you be able to make a bet on UCF vs Bama?

This is certainly the first time I've ever seen Kansas football described as a Ferrari.
