No, Wisconsin's best win would be Northwestern, who beat Maryland pretty badly.

Not that NW is all that good, they aren't, but they are clearly better than Maryland.

Wisconsin only beat NW by 9, and they beat MD by 25 which is their biggest margin over a P5 opponent.

Granted NW is better than MD, which is why I wrote "might be" because it's debatable between those two games.

OK, so you are including MOV in 'best', which I don't think is valid. E.g., Georgia's best win is clearly over Notre Dame, even though it's also their closest win. "Best" should mean best team you beat.

And in Wisconsin's case, the best team they've beaten so far surely isn't Maryland, it's NW, who beat MD by 16 points.

Fair enough. I didn't spend much time comparing NW vs MD because the point of my comment was to compare a common opponent between UCF and UW. After a quick glance at their record I didn't see anything much more impressive than a 25pt win over Maryland, but I said "might be" to cover my ass from pedants.

Let me rephrase. Wisconsin's 2nd best win (after NW) is a 25pt home victory over Maryland. UCF's 3rd best win (after Navy & Memphis) is a 28pt road victory over Maryland. Better?

Sure, LOL. 04-cheers

BTW, all this "where should UCF and USF be ranked" stuff is nonsense at this point. We will play a month from now and that will settle it.

RE: Central Florida is number 2!
I compiled an average ranking using 5 different rankings: AP, Coaches, Sagarin, ESPN and Massey (not the composite - just his). This is the composite ranking.

1...Alabama
2...Penn State
3...Georgia
4...Ohio State
5...Clemson
6...Notre Dame
7...Wisconsin
8...TCU
9...Washington
10..Oklahoma
11..Oklahoma St
12..Miami
13..Virginia Tech
14..Auburn
15..UCF
16..NC State
17..Stanford
18..Washington St
18..USC
20..Michigan
20..Mississippi St
22..LSU
23..Michigan St
24..USF
25..Iowa State

Seems as good as any to me.

TCU at 8? Michigan at 19? That ranking is garbage.

So...if UCF were playing Alabama next week, who would you bet on?

I'd go a step further and ask...

If UCF were playing ANYONE listed in the top 15 who would you bet on?

If one's answer is UCF.......

Not a UCF/AAC, but you've been in a couple threads crapping on UCF. Not sure why? Insecurity?

SOS:
UCF - 59
UW - 60

MOV:
UCF - 29.8
UW - 23.3

Home games:
UW - 5
UCF - 3

If UCF/UW finish 13-0, we're likely facing a scenario where UCF has 3 T25 wins and UW has 1. Hopefully for your sake, Sparty doesn't win the East. Bucky is having a great season, but I absolutely would NOT be casting stones at UCF in your shoes. Be thankful for preseason rankings.

There is a possibility of a UCF-Wisconsin game in the Access bowl. Would be quite funny if Wisconsin loses with all that P5 arrogance in place. I remember the Baylor fans back in the day..... lol. That Fiesta bowl sure put their tails between their legs.

Do you think TCU should be ranked higher, or lower? Fact is, you will get a lot of people to support either point of view. Same with Miami. Both still have enough games left against good teams that we'll have a better picture by the end of the year.

You aren't doing it correctly. Yelling at a computer (if your car ran like your computer you would abandon it) or a television is a tried and true stress reliever. Just ask a Detroit Lions fan.

Sometimes "crapping on" is done because it's deserved.

I also see several threads where the AAC fanboys rant & rave about how "good" they are and how they "deserve" to play with the big boys. Talk about insecurity. It's like the little brother who has a tantrum because he can't play with the bigger kids.

To throw a Rock quote at them "Know your role and shut your mouth".

If that bowl scenario would take place and UW (or whichever P5 team) stomps a mud-hole in whatever the leftovers throw at them, I won't gloat too much.

I'm sure NIU was thinking that exact same thing before the 2013 Orange Bowl. How'd that work out?

Did Wisconsin not lose a Rose Bowl to a Mountain West school or did I miss that? I know my bank account made good $ off it.

Wisconsin is having a great season, but a UW fan crapping on UCF given the SOS/MOV/common opponent to-date is the epitome of self-unawareness.

It was a one score game until the 4th quarter... do people seriously remember it as a blowout or something?

Wow, you seem to have a distinct bias against any team not designated P5. That pompous arrogance flowed out of Baylor and UCF stomped them. You clearly have not watched a single UCF game. This UCF team is more complete and deeper than that 2013 Fiesta Bowl champ team, but with a better coach. Maybe you were too young to remember that game? And are you seriously trying to compare UCF to NIU? Wow, gee, using your transcendental logic of brilliance, Wisconsin will lose to any G5 team because of what Appalachian State did to Michigan.

Deserved why? Because another team has played an equivalent schedule (to this point) with an equivalent record, and it possible that someone may think they are better than yours?

I would take you up on your 0-13 bet in no time flat. Yes, there are some teams I would bet on to beat UCF, others look pretty even, and a couple O like our odds against.

I'd take that bet in a heartbeat as well. ECU's played 4 current top 25 teams in VT, WVU, USF, and UCF. I think UCF was the best of that bunch.

UW - 5

SOS ratings such as Sagarin say Wisky has played a tougher schedule than UCF.

UCF has played a soft schedule so far. You just make yourselves feel better by noting that USFs is even softer

If UCF were playing ANYONE listed in the top 15 who would you bet on?

If one's answer is UCF.......

Not a UCF/AAC, but you've been in a couple threads crapping on UCF. Not sure why? Insecurity?

SOS:
UCF - 59
UW - 60

MOV:
UCF - 29.8
UW - 23.3

Home games:
UW - 5
UCF - 3

1) My reply was to his comment of UCF going 0-13 against the top 15 other than Memphis. Are you agreeing with that?

2) I said equivalent - Sagarin has Wisconsin ranked 8, SOS 62, UCF ranked 15, SOS 86, and others have it closer, so equivalent of not completely equal.

3) I said nothing about USF whatsoever, not sure what you're referring to. I would make the same case on point 1) for USF as I would for UCF.

Wisconsin is having a great season, but a UW fan crapping on UCF given the SOS/MOV/common opponent to-date is the epitome of self-unawareness.

I had the same impression.

USF and UCF can't do anything about the strength of their conference schedules--when you get kicked out of the establishment it's awfully hard to build a schedule with 9-10 establishment teams.

The top half of the AAC is no different that than the middle of the pack of any Power 5, they just don't have the blue bloods propping up their value due to brand association.
